I’ve experienced this. In my teens I’d always blow out my voice every game I played. However, I learned guitar and started singing around age 15. Was garbage for a good three years, but around 18/19 it all finally clicked. Once i figured out how to sing i was able to shout all game with little to no impact.

makes sense… ever been to a concert shouting screaming / singing the lyrics of a song to where you sound horse … same thing, you need to know how to shout the proper way without damaging your vocal chords
