Barcelona and Martin Braithwaite have reached an agreement to terminate the player’s contract by mutual consent. Braithwaite will receive a total of two and a half million euros according to reports in order to leave the club two years before his contract expires. The two parties have been negotiating for months now and after a breakthrough took place today and La Liga teams showed interest in signing Braithwaite on a free deal, which help make the termination go quickly. Martin has been a problem all summer long after the club told him in May to leave and rejected offers that would have brought a transfer fee to the club. Barcelona will also save around three million euros from the wage bill as well and free up space/margin in FFP for registering other players.

I think that the way FC Barcelona and a lot of the fans have treated Martin Braithwaite have been absolutely uncalled for. Braithwaite was bought for €18.00m and everyone knew, that he was'nt the second coming of Romario! He never said he was either, but he will work, run and fight and that he has done with class. He has been a hard worker on and off the pitch, with no scandals or anything of that kind, and i just don't think the way he's been treated was by any means fair! If you compare his 10 goals total to the output Griezmann and Dembelé made during that period, i bet Braithwaites goals was bought cheaper, when you look at trasferfees and salary! Furthermore, his best position IMO is left wing, where he has som room to use his speed, with his 177cm he is'nt a typical striker in the box, so when judging his career a FCB i think he has been playing the wrong position the whole time! On the danish national team he never plays in the center of the 433…
We've often heard of contract mismanagement in Turkish and Greek clubs, and scoughed of the way clubs in those countries treat players. Sometimes when they did'nt want a player anymore he often just did'nt get payed his salary and was put on an "island" by himself in training. Is that the next step for FC Barcelona?? Completely classless!
