Yannick Carrasco was born on September 4, 1993, in Ixelles, Belgium. He grew up playing soccer on the streets of his neighborhood, dreaming of one day becoming a professional player. At the age of 7, he joined the youth academy of his local team, AS Drogenbos, and his talent quickly became apparent.
As he progressed through the ranks, Yannick caught the eye of scouts from top Belgian clubs, and at the age of 16, he signed his first professional contract with Racing Genk.
