    Jessica is from Auckland, New Zealand and has lived in Japan for 20 years.
    She has been practicing the martial art of kyudo for 5 years.
    She also practices naginata, sports yabusame or horseback archery, shihanmato archery, and field archery.
    She works on Japanese TV and media introducing her home country New Zealand.

    Jessica hopes by introducing kyudo, other people will be interested in this seldom talked about martial art.

      やっぱ弓道の所作は美しい只ただ美しい。私は柔道部だったのでこんな美しさは皆無だった。空手の型も美しさと力強さがあるし柔道の形も一連の動作が美しいとは思うが私達には無かった。只ただきつ苦しく汗臭かったｗ

      しっかし空手では型と書くのに何故に柔道は形なのか？不思議過ぎる。

      結婚する前に嫁さんが『暴力は嫌い』と言っていたので学生時代に柔道と少林寺拳法を習っていた事を内緒にしていたが、
      結婚して同居する時に嫁の荷物に弓道一式が有って驚いた。

      オレ『武道は素手だけど、飛び道具は卑怯じゃね？』

      嫁『道具を正しく使いこなしてこそ武道ですよ！射るとスッキリするしね！私から離れたら危ないから近くに居てね！』

      オレ『射たれる…』

      以後、嫁が弓を握らないように手を繋いでます…（泣）

      東京武道館の弓道場懐かしい!
      高校生の時弓道場部で弓道二段でした。
      東京の弓道大会は明治神宮の弓道場か東京武道館の弓道場でした。
      もうやってはいませんが黒帯ワールドでまさか弓道取り上げてくれるとは感謝感激です。

      I have taken some lessons in different styles of martial arts, the last being Systema. I have often focused my mind, and thought of nothing else, while studying and practicing. Watching this demonstration, it seemed very peaceful to me and purposeful and I felt my internal state changing as I watched her explain about putting on the glove and thinking about what was to be her focus and goals during her upcoming training. I loved that and thought more of this thinking would be a good practice for me. Thank you. ❤

      she looks very Japanese …whom must lived there very Long time … even her body shape face figure are more like Asian elegant Lady …. the people and environment will change and affect u more than u think

      By the way, I would like to know why Jessica chose archery instead of archery.
