I might be the only one, but im underwhelmed by the jan links if im honest,
The japanese boy maeda looks good,
But the brazilian, irish and mooy… they dont fill fill me with excitment
mon the hoops
Is there any real hidden gems in the aussie league?
Like a young prospect who could do a job at celtic
I know we tried guys like leo maize and dan arzani and they didnt work out, but as its a league i dont know much of it would be good to know of anyone ange MIGHT keep an eye on
maybe he will take a wage cut to get a game , and get back to the Mrs. and become a Celtic legend . here's hoping
Believe it or not his wife was my 'girlfriend' in primary school 😂
A Catholic primary school no less haha! On paper Mooy to Celtic is an excellent fit. Would be delighted if we could convince him round.
Mr Mooy should be coming no where near Glasgow. Lets be honest, we have James McCarthy who can do quite well at sitting around doing nothing and taking a hefty wage.
I don't know why we can't bring in people like Lewis Ferguson, Paul McMullan or Regan Charles-Cook
Not in the know but if true the CSL club may be willing to release Aaron to reduce its pre covid wage bill to "covid normal"…. I reckon at worst an ageing Mooy could fill rotate through all central midfield roles as backup or perhaps play the CDM position and release McGregor into a more attacking role often.
Celtic aren't going to bring Mooy in as a back-up. He'd walk straight into that midfield though and would be a great addition but can't see it happening. He's got a bigger engine than he gets credit for. No issues with durability.
Cant afford him & he doesn't fill me with excitement 🍀
3 million a year
What about Luongo??? Better player
I get the Ange Mooy connection, just can’t see Celtic paying anywhere near those wages🍀🏴🇮🇪
I`ve never heard of Aaron Mooy but if Ange thinks he can do a job for us we have to trust him although at the age of 31 i wouldn`t expect celtic to pay £ 6.3 million for him and he would have to except a wage cut there`s no way he`ll get £60 ,000 at parkhead i`m guessing if celtic offer £3 million for him they`ll get him he`s 31 so i think that`s a reasonable offer Although i think at his current age he`s worth £2 million !
If it was going to happen, it would've been one of the first signings back in July. Age and wage issues aside. It just doesn't seem likely.
Love Mooy but with McCarthy, CalMac, Rogic and Turnbull it’s hard to see where he would fit in. What Celtic really needs is an injection of real pace in the midfield. Mooy has never had a great turn of foot, his greatest strength off the ball is his reading of the game and knowing where to put himself. But if we had Mooy, Rogic and CalMac in midfield we would be about the slowest midfield in the league.
Was wanting him in the summer was gutted we did not get him hes the player we need in midfield like scott brown type player for bigger games. Even matty ryan wanted him also but now well more happy with joe hart
Would Celtic pay the transfer fee?
I’m watching the Melbourne city Brisbane game in the Scotland the now it’s 10am, why the fuck is there so many seagulls on the pitch
AP said in another interview that Asia was an untapped market. So I think he'll be looking at more J-League players. An attacking central midfield/forward and a central defender would be their main targets for the SPFL I think. They need cover for Kyogo and Rogic. However as Celtic will probably qualify for the Champions League next year, that would definitely require some top defensive players.
This is not going to happen.
Just after Ange took over at Celtic there where rumours that Aaron might be convinced to join him.
At that time Aaron was highly valued by his chinese club playing a customary dominant role in midfield. Aaron's wife and children live in Scottland near her parents and so it seemed to make perfect sense for him to relocate.
I confess to be a huge fan of Mooy's and would have loved to see him at Celtic.
However much might have changed for Aaron in China. A new manager came in and he did not appear to favour Aaron's style of play. So his game time seems limited right now. Also last time he played for Australia he looked flat and unconvincing. Considering his potentially very high wages bill it might be prudent to opt for a younger but highly talented midfielder.
Don't see this signing happening as we have too many players in that area & it would bring up the wage bill drastically. Would be a great signing no doubt to add depth & experience to the team.
he's available on free now
