Aubameyang is not captain material. He is an excellent striker to lead the line but the mistake Arteta and Arsenal made is making him their captain just because he is their best player (and a senior player). You don't make a player captain just because he is your best player. If he were to sign for Chelsea, he won't be anywhere near the armband because at Chelsea there are proper leaders in the squad and they don't make a player their captain just because he is their best player. If that were the case, Chelsea would've made Hazard their captain for years. Arteta handled Aubamyang pretty poorly. Klopp, Tuchel & even Xavi handled him perfectly and none of them put any leadership responsibility onto him as that is not who he is.

Signing Auba , fofana makes sense as we need them. But de jong, though he is a very good player, but we have enough players on mid unless we sell some. Maybe we should prioritise signing a winger who can actually take on players and create some space. Even zaha would be a great addition.
