Over the past week, there has been an extraordinarily viral news story claiming that PSG right-back Achraf Hakimi has avoided having to pay his wife a divorce settlement in court because all of his assets are in his mother’s name.
That’s despite the fact that there is very little evidence to support that claim, but regardless of that fact, the entire tenor of the conversation seems to be rather odd given the context in which Hakimi and his wife Hiba Abouk are getting divorced.
So in this video, HITC Sevens attempts to find the truth behind some very slanted headlines, taking a look at both online misinformation and a rise in misogyny, and how the two are linked.

This video routinely describes Hakimi as being «indicted» on rape charges. «Indicted» coming from a poor English translation of the French process of «mis en examen» in which he is questioned about the crime, nothing more and nothing less. Constantly referring to this «indictment» implies that, like in English and American systems, he has been charged which he has not.

1. Innocent until proven guilty. Especially in today’s day in age were many men rich and poor alike are falsely accused. Provide others the same grace you would want in return if you were the accused.
2. A story like this to be completely made up such as a famous person getting a divorce will be obvious eventually and would be hilariously dumb to fabricate. Instead, you should verify first that they are lying before you accuse them of it. Until then don’t act like you know they’re lying when you really don’t. That accusation from you by the same standard you’re using is just as much a lie as the one you’re accusing them of. Both your claim and theirs are unsubstantiated. The hypocrisy drips off from your British accent.
3. What’s unreasonable in western society is that laws allow for a woman to leave for any reason, even if the women cheats she can take half of the assets. It’s also unreasonable to get into a supposed life long vow and then just leave and take everything. Many men are destroyed from this and it’s not what one would describe as justice based upon the meaning found in a dictionary. How can one make a promise and be rewarded for braking said promise/vow?
4. Yes lots can happen in divorce court depending on the country. Very good of you to point that out.
5. Misogyny is the hatred of all women. It is Not when men are pissed off at current marriage laws and a culture that allows women to accuse men and labeling them as guilty until proven innocent.
6. Allow me to humbly give you some constructive criticism. You’re a pompous asshole Brit that can’t go two sentences without spewing out a baseless insult designed to puff up your own hubris and unearned ego. If half of all you got is insults then you don’t really got much now do you?
