      It's funny how people keep giving the excuse that Liverpool's midfield is aging when the two pillars of Real Madrid are 37 (modric) and 35 (benzema) respectively. Right now, those guys are undropable for Madrid.

      You always love those comeback stories. I remover when he was called the worst Transfer for RM… and look at him now, even Vini Jr, we all remember how bad he was and nobody understood why he got so many chances … and look at him now. Ceballos the next one…. Revived his career this season …. It’s amazing to see, unfortunately Hazard couldn’t do it

      The thing is not everyone is a true world class player. Liverpool has a decent midfield but none of them are truly world class like Modric. Same with United they didn’t have a true world class midfielder till Casemiro joined. The media today hypes up anyone as world class after a few decent games smh.

      It really hit me when he said – 'Liverpool midfield is ageing, it doesn't necessarily mean you can't dominate the football'. Clearly summarise the likes of Modric and Karim.
      Aged doesn't always mean dead weight, it could also mean 'Experience on the pitch'
      And that's what I love about Madrid. They never shy on moving on from their best players(they moved on from Ronaldo when they thought it's time) but they also value sustainable experience.

      Everyone will always be using KDB to compare to Modric.

      Technically they’re very similar but difference between the 2 is Modric brought Croatia to the WC semis, while KDB couldn’t do much in a better Belgium squad.

      Modric is one of the rare players that actually improve with age.

      5 CL titles. Few MF have done that.
      Got Cro a Silver and Bronze WC.
      You put Modric on Spa or Fra he would have won multiple WC.
      Put Iniesta , Xavi or Zidane on Cro would they have done as well? Would be interesting.

      Liverpool midfield is old while the top guys like Luka are even older. It's both correct. The difference is that guys like Modric play with brain first, legs second while Klopp's heavy metal 'Pool midfield is legs and lungs first, brain and technique second. The wheels are just gone.
