  1. Really liked the way you put things in context about giving out Victor Orta’s number and the valuable contributions he has made to the club. The breath of hope fans now have about the burgeoning youth players is palpable. We know we could be onto something big, but just need to plug the obvious gaps until the youngsters are ready. We are doing ok and Victor is doing his best. If we get the next few signings right we could really start to fly. We’ve been in the wildernesses for so long the fans are impatient, but let’s hold tight and pull together. We have the potential to be a real force…

  2. Another great video Ger. Very balanced & honest as always & agree once more with everything that you have talked about. The Orta stuff in particular stood out & I have echoed your views on him over the weekend. He has made some bad decisions in his time but on the other hand he has signed some amazing talent for practically nothing, Meslier for example for around £5 million is a steal.
A good 3 points anyway even though it caused me to have an aneurysm & on to the next one. MOT.

  3. I don't agree with any abuse aimed at any player or owners but In balance we only have Victor's word his phone number been given around…strikes me as a guy to shift blame elsewhere.

  4. Good job on the Orta stuff, though I will say it's completely out of line to go up to a high profile person on the street and start laying into him. Twice I have been an airports where there was a politician who should be tarred and feathered, and it was tempting I admit to want to give these brain dead folks a piece of my mind, but to what end? (Just so we're clear, Orta is NOT brain dead!!). Your anger is almost always not that important.

As for the Red Bull system, I wrote this on Conor's channel but it's worth repurposing here. The Red Bull system is predicated upon the idea — proven statistically — that most goals are scored off of turnovers in the middle and final third, basically the halfway line it. It is also a system where more limited players can be effective, even against teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal who player for player are better than you.

The system will work, but the players HAVE to have the intelligence, athleticism, AND discipline to (1) regain shape on the counter (2) recover to defensive positions and (3) Meslier has to take more control of the defensive alignment on crosses and set pieces.. The first Bournemouth goal, isolated back post shot, was a pure failure to regain shape and to recognize that defensively Leeds was too overloaded left, and one or two guys could have slid more centrally. Moreover, Meslier did not aggressively manage his defense to adjust those players. And he should have had Rasmus mark the back post player and deal with the central attacker himself, given how much taller and longer he is than anyone on the pitch. One of the things you should learn in youth soccer if you're keeper, the most dangerous attacking player on the pitch when the cross is coming is the unmarked player without the ball. But you as a keeper, can mark the guy that is closest to you and challenge him 1 on 1 on the cross. I believe this shortcoming on the part of Meslier is one reason you hear Jesse in public saying how he wants Meslier to be more of a "leader." We forget, as we are in awe of his talent, how young he is.

Some, like you Ger, are concerned about the lack of width, and have suggested going to a 4-3-3. And while the 4-3-3 may make sense, it forces Adams to be a solo 6 with no support and, trust me, having seen him in a US kit, that role does not suit him, where our rigid inflexible national team coach insists on playing a 4-3-3. Tyler is the perfect player for a double pivot in that he can cover more ground and make deep recovery runs if he has too (and get in the attack! as he did in the Gnonto, Somerville sequence, where he slid to the right and drew defenders with him!!) . In a 4-3-3, a straight or diamond 4-4-2, you are asking Tyler to be more static and to be more skilled on the ball than he is, and that runs against his positive qualities of work rate, excellent tackling/ball winning. marking, and all around toughness. In other words, there are tradeoffs.

Other points — Transfermarket has Guerreiro at 20 mil Euro, HALF the price of 40 just 18 months ago. That price drop may be due to Dortmund running out of time to sell him, or maybe it's due to performance falloff, or a combination of the two. He is 28, so on the back end of the career, but 20 seems a fair price. He would certainly be an upgrade.

You said the table is tight — and if you just look at the points, that seems to be the case. But I believe the gap is wider than you might think. Forest and Wolves are a mess. Who's going to score for Everton or West Ham? Moyes and Lampard are sitting at their desks, and pacing the training ground every day, asking that question which at the moment doesn't have an answer. Bournemouth, frankly is not that good. Take a look at the Sofa score stats for the game,
    https://www.sofascore.com/afc-bournemouth-leeds-united/Jskb
The score was way closer that it should have been. Leeds was crushing them.

So, yeah, have your ulcer medication ready at kickoff, along with some Green Spot to soothe the frayed nerves (I'm partial to Wild Geese, but I hear that's for those naive American tourists).

But it may be, it could be, it might be, a lot better than your stomach tells you.

  5. If we have to pay the JKA fee which is looking increasingly likely. I am probably setting myself up here , but would that make him our player and would there be a possibility of bringing him back to ER to assess him and hopefully bringing him back into the first team seeing he will have cost us that money. Looking at his playing history he appeared to have plenty of plaudits prior to his Leeds move. Must say Ger I do enjoy your content.

  6. He might go to Chelsea!..We might get someone that is rubbish…As fans are we too fickle..Jesse gives the match plan to the players, do they stick too it. For me you can’t blame the board, the manager for player reaction..Gnonto has been a find for me..Good business. Thanks Ger, level headed response to overreacting as always..MOT!

  7. Think most of it is frustration end of the day every one is trying their best. Let's get to 40 pts and then we can relax alaw . Our 23s are going well and the first team not doing too bad now. Mot from West Cumbria alaw 💙 💛 🤍

  8. Bad mistakes in defence almost cost us the game but thankfully the boys came through. An excellent result in the end but boy did they put us through it. On the Victor Orta situation there is absolutely no reason to abuse anyone the way he has been. Yes he’s made mistakes but so has everyone. Spurs next and that will depend on what Spurs team turns up.

  9. Thanks Ger. I agree 100% with your reporting.
Now that we have shown excellent potential it is becoming more difficult to cope with underachieving. I exist on the edge of sanity when I'm observing Leeds.
    What an amazing fightback!!! WOW!!!
We can and must appraise professional actions without condemning private people. Every person has great value. Every person involved within the Premier League as a professional is a very high achiever! It's so competitive!
This board led us out of the Championship wilderness which is supremely praiseworthy, as are the reports of our balance sheet, but I can't recall this board ever really accepting personal responsibility for their mistakes. No fan agrees with that. It remains to be seen whether they will remedy this in January.
They own and run the club, but the fans are the rock it is built upon and we power this club.
If we continue winning thats what fans will talk about! Thats what fans want to talk about! We don't buy shirts with Radrizzani, Orta or Kinnear on our backs.
    Cheers mate.

  10. In regard to Willy and Greenwood's performance. I would argue that if Bamford weren't injured, then JM would have put him on before Greenwood and Willy. If that Had happened, then I don't think we would be talking about a remarkable fightback and win!?

  11. For me, the board have made mistakes but they have also done a lot of very good things also. Bringing in Bielsa was the finest move ever, but the past 3-4 seasons have also brought honour and respect back to the club. They have provided a very respected ownership and have run the club very well (no goldfish!). I will always thank Andrea for what he has done for the club, and respect him for that. Of course he will walk away with a bag full of cash after the sale to the 49ers, but fair play to him. If the new era of ownership is to arrive, it would be the perfect timing. cheers Ger!

  12. Ger, I agree with yer 100%
I just wish that Jesse would instruct the team that they need to mark up the opposition players, particularly in the box when we are defending.

  13. we dont need to sign anymore players. Weve just proved that in our last 2 games. Also stuart dallas should be back soon who i think is a george best. he is a great player. Also jessie needs to start with joe up front. MOT

  14. i thought tyler adams had a good game as he,s not scared to make a tackle and win the ball. Actually i really think all of the team had a good game 🏐 Mot

  15. very true with victor orta, speak to him in a civil and honest manner. He is part of the team and he will handle the bad times with the good 🏈 . the 49er,s are comming 💲 . mot
