It is very important that we don’t get cocky and go in like we did today. Kudos to those boys for killing with ten men but football is crazy. North Macedonia knocking out Italy proves that anything can happen whether it’s in our favour or not.

Yep tough loss. I thought that after the near red card early, one of the leaders on this team should have spoken to Kaye. We missed Vitoria at the back yesterday on set pieces and his leadership. I thought that Larin and David were very quiet last night.
If I have one criticism of Herdman, who is a great manager, it is his decision to pick players for squad like Donell Henry, Cavillini who are not international caliber players, just because of the group vibe. Ritchie Lareya and Bucchanan were tremendous! I like us to play in a 3-5-2 on Sunday Stephan Estaquio and Jonathan Osario lack athleticism in midfield without Samuel Piette.

It will be a shame for Canada, but Herdman will be plucked from the national team to lead a good club side. More power to him.
If you had to lose, better to lose on a Wednesday night virtually irrelevant qualifier in Costa Rica then in Qatar. This may end up being the best thing to happen to the team.

Italy should have lost to N. Macedonia. They are no longer a world class organization – haven't been for years. Serie A is a school for theatrics not football – and I'm of Italian origin!! Canada on-the-other-hand are just at the embryonic stages of their development. Herdman has done wonders with this group and yes, Kaye "is human" but there is NO denying the impact of his lack of composure/discipline. It cannot go unchecked regarding Kaye or the other players on this team. If nothing else, a lesson MUST come from this. They can ill-afford to compete on the international stage without knowing that the dirty opposition or worse yet "poor officiating" is not a possibility. I sincerely believe that ALL Canadian team sports would do well to watch Raptors videos where the gross, repetitive, horrendous calls by a wide spectrum of officials CONSISTENTLY favour Raptor opposition, and YET they play through it, almost on a game-to-game basis. They have come to EXPECT that it will happen. As such, it doesn't detract from their focus, even when an official has a direct impact on the outcome in the dying seconds! You can see this for yourself in the recent games between the Raptors and the Lakers, 76rs and Bulls. It was as if 2 separate games were taking place on the same hardwood!?! One set of rules at one end, but completely different rules at the other!?! It was overt and outright disgraceful BUT the Raptors still managed to win 2 of those 3 games! The third game was darn close too, as a matter of fact. These are growing pains for Canada's football, providing strong messages within. Do NOT undermine the messages. They will serve us going forward. You aren't going to win many games playing a man short.

There is physically no way we don't make Qatar. Unless we lose the last 2 games and costa rica wins their next 2 games with a 6 goal diferential, worst case scenario for Canada is 3rd.
