Cody Gakpo is on the verge of signing for Manchester United. Many reports have linked the red devils with the Dutch forward who has been immense for the Netherlands during the World cup as well as PSV Eindhoven and it seems that Erik Ten Hag is inevitably going to get his man. After being linked with Marcus Thuram, Youssoufa Moukoko, Dusan Vlahovic, and Joao Felix among others, Manchester United has identified Cody Gakpo as their ideal transfer target to fill Cristiano Ronaldo’s shoes.

  1. idk if u guys notice this but most of the young up & coming star players are dark skin. don't get me wrong it's not a bad thing but this just proved that darkskin people work harder to achieve their dream nowadays, others unfortunately being sunk down by today technology & entertainment.

  2. We've lost Greenwood, Cavani & now Ronnie; Only replaced by Antony (& Garnacho promotion whose going to be naturally inconsistent)…. Martial continues to be an unreliable option due to his fitness…. We desperately need forward options AND a striker imo…

  3. They don’t have to get money as fast as possible, as long as it is before July 1st. They needed a big transfer to have a positive financial year but it doesn’t HAVE to be in the winter

  4. The Gakpo signing is a very good signing. I think this guy can play in the 10, but I feel Ten Hag will use him in trequartista role as false 9.5 in a 433 or 4231 formation.

6'3 and deceptively quick, I feel he has other assets to his game that Ten Hag can develop, which would make him into one of the most feared forwards in the world.

I would respectfully disagree on one point you made about Martial that is not in his long term plans. I think Martial is a Ten Hag type of striker and so he will definitely feature more often than not.

At the moment, I see the starting front 3, with everyone fit and firing, as Rashford on the right of three (I found it odd that a right footed player could not play on the right side of the attack but I guess the Wales and Burnley games have changed all that..) Martial (If he can stay consistently fit he offers so much to our attack and style of play) and Gapko who drop into the half spaces on the right, left or centre of the forward line interchanging with Martial and Rashford.

Bruno Fernandes is the key figure in ensuring that the front three is clicking.

Antony will be pushing hard as will Sancho (my favourite player when he is at it) however they don't offer the same goal getting directness as Gakpo, Martial and Rashford.

And then there is Garnacho, who will, in the next 18 months, be seriously knocking on the door as a starter, in my humble opinion, if the progression takes the continued trajectory currently.

With effective new ownership (I do pray that this is so), exciting times are ahead for our club.

  5. I disagree with your view on martials standing in the squad and with ETH. It's clear to me that martial is his number one option at CF, I say that considering the fact whenever he has a semblance of fitness ETH puts him straight back in the team. He has specific qualities that no other player in our squad has. Hopefully he can put the injuries behind him for the remainder of the season. When he's fit he's excellent!
