  1. I fee he’s a bit of victim of his position; the no.10 and second striker role has been phased out. Look at Ozil, Isco and Rodriguez – they all suffered.

  2. I'll tell you what happened to him… British media overrated him… fans started to do the same and now this the footballer he turned out to be…just average

  3. I think many people forget that Dele had multiple key injuries from September 2018 to August 2019 that affected how much game time he got and how well he could move. Four hamstring injuries, and also out for 50 days with a thigh muscle injury all in the space of 12 months. It massively affected his ability to make those quick runs off the shoulder that he was so good at in 16/17 and 17/18. Combined with a new manager coming in changing the system around him to one he is not as good in (and without players like Eriksen and Dembele to help keep space open for him).

Then, in 2020, he and his gf were held at knifepoint in his own home in the middle of all the Coronavirus stuff, so he couldn't even really go out and see family and friends to try and deal with the psychological toll that has on someone.

It seems to all have affected him to the point where he just doesn't really care anymore.

  4. just a modern day player that's lost the love of the game. What would he do if he quit? Go into the real world.. and do what?
Ash barty won the Australian open at her prime and quit because she just simply lost the interest and had played the game from when she was 2. it happens. I'd stick to my shitty 9-5 job if you paid me 20k a week.

  5. What happened to him?😂
Why is this even a story. He was overhyped from the get go just like so many English youngsters and he reached his true potential…
In not being able to even get into a Turkish league team..
He is a championship player at best. Tottenham only brought him because he was good at mk dons who were league 1/league 2 level. He had one ok ish spell at Tottenham before we saw the real dele. This really shouldn't be a story 🤦‍♀️ but sky sports just wants to milk everything like normal 😮‍💨
