They should sell the Galaxy franchise to Donovan and his team, and rebrand as the SD Loyal MLS expansion team
So, I am sure that these presenters sympathize against victims of racial abuse, but as a black man, there is something that feels forced about these comments from these presenters. Of course some of that comes from needing to comment on these issues as a corporate product but I also think that as 4 white people they truly can't empathize with the black experience. I know they know they should feel bad and they logically understand it. But you can tell from how they are talking about this issue that they have most likely never experienced racism or racial abuse to themselves. I would have preferred there be a racialized ethnic minority on the panel to discuss this incident. Because there is a lack of systemic understanding of this issue within sport culture and especially how it manifest uniquely in the Soccer culture in America. All the way from the middle-class youth academies to latin American players brining their own flavor of colorism and racism to the pitch. I know you guys are trying your best and I appreciate the kind words. But I would have liked there to have been references to the systemic issues within the MLS and the wider American soccer community. TL:DR Not referencing systemic issues when talking about racism is aiding in the mystification of solutions towards racism. Don't diagnos the symptoms, eliminate the disease.
