I wish Messi the best no matter what he decides to do, and obviously it makes sense that many Barca fans would love him to return. But I don't see how it would be possible financially.
They keep talking like the club has no sense. His wage is obviously going to be reduced. It’s common sense. Infact if you actually follow reports, you’ll find out that Messi is already okay with receiving low wages, and being compensated in a different way. Percentage of the revenue generated by his return will be given to him and also a tribute match will hosted in the camp nou and a percentage of that will be given to him also.

Messi is the greatest player to ever play the game and he will have comercial value to Barcelona far beyond his retirement… bringing him back in a smart way makes a lot of financial sense.
Until you are in the same shoes, it’s unfair to determine how someone should walk in his shoes. Barcelona certainly knows what’s good for them and if they decide to bring back Messi, so be it.

Gab said on one of these that Real Madrid should sign a 38 year old Ronaldo before he went to Al-Nassr. Meanwhile, those who support the idea of Messi returning to Barca are apparently childish… Nice hypocrisy. Not to mention, this is someone who is still at a great level, having not only helped lead his side to the world cup, but he also has more combined goals and assists than any player for club and country this season. His creativity and goalscoring ability would only make Barca better imo.
What does not makes sense is having a fat guy that has no history of being a footballer comments on footballers that can run unlike him and comment on what makes sense for a club which has the people who are qualified and have the know how of how to run it while this fat guy just runs his mouth. There's just so much to debunk and unravel with Gab's statement.
Messi lowered his wages by 50% in the summer of 2021 but it wasn't enough and I believe in Spain you're not allowed to go past 50%. The situation is different now. Messi would come in as a "new" signing, allowing Barca to give him a much lower wage (7-10mil Euros).
In terms of playstyle, yes, Messi's biggest issue would be pressing but the trade-off with his insane passing and quick bursts of dribbling is worth it. Obviously Xavi knows how Messi plays so it seems he finds it worth it too. And i swear if someone says the nonsense that "Xavi doesn't want Messi, that's a coach's nightmare" i will throw hands. Xavi has already said multiple times he wants Messi, he's CALLED Messi, he talks to him all the time. Why would he not only lie to the fans, media, and team… But to Messi too? That's far-fetched.
And c'mon Gabs. You cannot say a romantic Barcelona move would make no sense, when you then say Rosario and Al-Nassr makes more sense.
