2017-18 was the last of Bale's prime (arguably it could be 2020-21 for Spurs), he was injured for half the season and then scored 20 goals in the later half of it. I watched every single of his game, he was only included in La Liga matches. Even though he was scoring extremely consistently, he wasn't allowed to play in CL by Zidane. Even in the CL final, he was called in as a sub even when he was in his best form in some time. That's why at the CL final, Bale told the media that he'd have to leave because he isn't getting the game time he deserves. It didn't go through because Ronaldo left the next season, and Bale stayed. I honestly think that Bale had done his deed for RM at this point and he should have left Madrid that summer.
