On today’s 10, we’re looking at stars bigger than their club. You won’t find David Beckham on our list, but we’ve got 10 players who made a mark on the game bigger than the sides they played for.
Our list includes Roma icon Francesco Totti and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, both of whom turned down big moves to stay with their boyhood sides, as well as Jack Grealish and Jan Oblak, currently showing up their teammates in the Premier League and La Liga. There’s also room for Alan Shearer and Gabriel Batistuta, both world-class strikers at mid-table teams, as well Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contribution to the rise of PSG, and Robin van Persie’s role in the fall of Arsenal.
