Denzel Dumfries is a professional footballer from the Netherlands, who currently plays as a right-back for the Dutch national team and for the German club Borussia Dortmund.
Dumfries was born on April 18, 1996, in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He started his youth career at BVV Barendrecht, before moving to Sparta Rotterdam. In 2015, he made his professional debut for Sparta Rotterdam in the Eerste Divisie.
In 2018, Dumfries joined PSV Eindhoven, where he quickly established himself as a key player in the team. He helped PSV win the Eredivisie in his first season, and was named the club’s Player of the Year. Dumfries also made his debut for the Netherlands national team in 2018, and has since become a regular member of the squad.
In the summer of 2021, Dumfries transferred to Borussia Dortmund for a reported fee of €16.5 million. He has continued to impress with his performances for both club and country, and is considered one of the top young full-backs in European football.
