  1. And old furnace, she just picking the best teams, and the captain identifying it from there, it needs to say the Southampton captain isn’t the best captain was exactly what a captain 87 is very professional weather winning trophies, doesn’t matter a good captain

  2. The segment on Fernandes was full of shit takes from people who clearly don’t watch Man Utd…

First up giving credit to story’s that have already been proven false, claiming he gives up when he’s literally placed every minute of the season and will always be the last one still running..

Making sure players applaud away fans after a bad game,

Even if he’s not having a good game aswell he does still lead the team and drive them forward, I get he can be a bit “stroppy” but that’s one part given loads of weight instead of the massive amount of good qualities..

Suggesting Rashford or DeGea should be captain instead is just laughable

Like Shaw has better leadership qualities than both of them

  3. As a passionate Arsenal fan, Gundogan is the best purely by his achievements at City, the essence of a captain is to LEAD the team to success

  4. Gundogan is getting wayyy too disrespected here. I'm sorry but Odegaard is literally just a younger version of Gungogan. Gundo has had 3 insane contributions while at City:
-2 goals to win against Villa on final day and become league champions
-being top scorer with 20+ goals from midfield in 20/21 when literally no one else in the squad could score a goal
-playing DM in Fernandinho's absence for that 14 game winning streak where we finished a point ahead of Liverpool in 18/19

All this while playing at a 7 or 8 out of 10 every single game for many years. Should be ashamed to put him behind the likes of 'leading by example' Odegaard, Gundo is the textbook definition of leading by example. It shouldn't count against a player that his absence wouldn't be disastrous because the club has other leaders who can step in..

  5. If you think that the bar is so low for the captains. How about trying for players who lead by example/ performance. That discussion would be somewhat more difficult to have

  6. I don't think a captain is about being the best player. Its more than that. A captain is more than that, Henderson is a good example, a good/decent player, but a great captain.

  7. Enjoyed this until the one fella said that Bruno asked to be subbed off 🙈 how many times does that need to be disproved🥵

  8. Mings should be there imo. not talking about his footballing ability btw before anyone gets angry and says he overrated even though he’s overhated

  9. I think these guys don’t know what a captain is. Just because a player plays well doesn’t mean he is a great captain. Idk why thiago silva is not on this list. If you would have put saka in that list they would have ranked him first ahead of henderson and ofdegard because he has had a better season.

  10. Liverpool's greatest captains
Steven Gerrard (Captain for 13 years)
Graeme Souness (Captain of 3 successive title winning teams)
    Alan Hansen (Double winning captain)
Emlyn Hughes (Back to back UCL winning captain)
Jordan Henderson (PL and UCL winning captain)
Ron Yeats (First Liverpool captain to lift the fa cup)
We've had a lot of different types of captains and some of the best as well

  11. You can't use a lack of experience as a reason to mark down Odegaard. At 24 he has more experience than most 28 year olds! Also the guy stays behind after every single game to walk around and clap every section of the stadium. He's a class act and a great example of a "modern day" captain. On the opposite side of that scale, having Bruno anywhere near this list is pretty embarrassing.

  12. I'm not entirely sure Henderson can be number 1 right now. Just because he shouts a lot doesn't mean he's a good captain. He's letting his team down fairly often, whereas the other players aren't

  13. Hendos actual leadership is comparable to the best ever in the PL. obviously his ability isn’t comparable though. Hendo is a much better captain than Gerrard ever was.

  14. You guys are joke, you are debating without a Manchester United fan. Bruno in term of contribution to the team he’s much up there as a leader. You guys are biased
