Man said that his squad depth is shallow in certain positions. If thats his reason to select people like Maguire, Phillips, Gallagher, etc. then the FA have lost their minds by giving him the position of manager and sticking with him when they could’ve easily sacked him after the world cup and attract any other tactician imo. I am a utd fan but for christ sake, how do you select a player like Maguire who has barely played any minutes for utd (please dont come to me saying maguire is a different beast for england.. istg thats just bollocks cause any world class striker like mbappe or haaland would have him for toast), a player who does bench riding for city in Phillips, and leave out someone like James Ward Prowse who literally is miles better than bloody CONOR GALLAGHER. Gareth Southgate is a championship manager at best (saying that for pity if im being honest) otherwise he’s suited for an EFL One level club istg. I know me saying this wont get him sacked by tomorrow but to all those england fans out there, if you lot still believe you can win an international trophy with the players you’ve got, you’ll never win one under his management. You lot need to riot against the FA and get him sacked immediately for the brighter future.
