      @atlantisfootball not your most analytical video. You assert that Kin Min Jae is an upgrade on Varane without any supporting evidence. He replaced Koulibaly who was regarded as the best defender in Italy and he hasn't pulled up any trees in the EPL. I'm happy for us to buy him to replace Maguire and/or Lindelof but I don't think we should hype him up so much.

      Timber is the more likely signing, as he can play RB, and move over to CB if Varane is unavailable. Plus we know EtH likes him and attempted to sign him last summer.

      Kim Min-jae is a defender who can't dribble and can't handle the ball with his feet. However, he is good at interpersonal marking and header competition, and there is no faster defender than him, and his physical balance is excellent. In soccer games, only Kim Min-jae defends from the back alone, and the Napoli team often sees all players go up and attack, which is why Napoli, made up of ordinary players, scores a lot of goals and loses fewer goals. Varane is one of the world class defenders. However, Kim Min-jae is a defender who wins the team. Kim Min-jae is not the right player for Manchester United. He is suitable for a team that wants to win the league and the Championship. There hasn't been a defender like this in history yet. Only one defender affects the team's overall victory.

      He's got a release clause of cost over 40m that's active in the first few days of the summer window. If we did sign him he'd want to play in every game that's the trouble. I'd rather us sign someone like Ndicka or Antonio Silva from Benfica

      From how I see it, Kim is similar to Martinez in playing style in that he defends on the front foot and ideally what I believe we need is a covering CB- someone in the mould of Varane. In the sense that, if Martinez moves closer to midfield, as he often does, another CB is left behind to cover for him incase of a counter attack transition. For me Martinez and Kim are similar.

      lol Kim isn't better than Varane and he is front foot defender we already have that with Martinez, why would you spend 45m on a backup when we have huge problems in midfield and CF, why don't you highlight the negative too his game as well like his ball playing ability

      I agree! He looks like a faster Martinez though not as good on the ball (most aren't). A United mid defense with Kim and Lisandro would be the best in the Premiere League without competition. Obviously I also like Varane a lot but he's not as tenacious as Kim and Lisandro and that's what I like most about great defenders (once being a tenacious defender myself but nowhere near the same level).
