Liverpool in ‘pole position’ by Teun Koopmeiners
It’s no secret that Liverpool are in the market for new midfielders this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to rebuild his squad after a sub-par season.
One of the names previously linked with a move to Anfield is Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, and it appears the Italian press has returned to talk about it this week.
According to Calciomercato, the Reds are in “pole position” to conquer the Dutchman before the start of next season, but will face competition from Juventus. However, it is claimed that Koopmeiner’s valuation of around €36m could prevent the Old Lady from entering an auction with Liverpool, paving the way for a move to Anfield.
The 25-year-old has made 30 appearances for Atalanta in all competitions this season, scoring six goals. Perhaps Virgil van Dijk will help close the deal?
