Morocco took the lead earlier in the game, thanks to a well-executed attack finished with a classy spinning move in the box by Sofiane Boufal. However, a rare mistake by Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou allowed Brazil to equalize through Casemiro’s shot in the second half.
Despite missing several key players due to injuries, Brazil had their chances, but were unable to convert them, with Bounou making crucial saves throughout the match. The result was not entirely surprising, as Morocco had gone further than Brazil in the World Cup, with the latter being knocked out in the quarterfinals on penalties.
The Brazilian team struggled to find their form in the match, with their front three unable to make the most of the chances they had. They also had a goal disallowed due to Vinicius Jr. being offside. Morocco’s victory was fueled by a passionate home crowd that created an electrifying atmosphere for the first match played after their fourth-place finish in Qatar.
