I love that the Dutch are blunt and speak their mind. You can agree with their views or not but they don't hold back & I much rather hear people say what they truly think. Van Dijk 2023 is a shadow of years gone by. Everyone can see it. It should be spoken about, he shouldn't be wrapped in cotton wool, come on.

People telling van dijk is better than ramos based on the only one good season he had even dias is better than vvd till this season when dias came to city he was better than vvd and people dont talk about that

Honestly do they know anything about Dutch mentality?? Ever hear any of the Dutch coaches speak ? They are straight shooters so are the players they speak with extreme honestly and don’t hold back. It’s normal in Holland

Gees… the Dutch with fisticuffs. Nothing new. Remember 2002? Agree with Craig it seemed so personal. VVD might not be at his best at the moment but crazy go at him. He's a tough guy so won't do it, but do wonder if he wouldn't just say: "Eh you know, maybe I should focus on Liverpool and my club career going forward."
I wouldn't put him in before Saliba or Gabriel.

Keep defending him. The dude had a couple good seasons and all of a sudden he’s dubbed the best cb in the world. He’s been irrelevant the past 2 and a half seasons and way past his best but people don’t want to accept that fact. He’s actually Liverpool’s weakest link in defense but people want to blame the other defenders around him, giving him a pass. He’s been useless since he came back from injury and the injury shouldn’t be the excuse. He’s just not good enough anymore. Period!!!!!

Lisandro Martinez is a World class defender compared to VVD. Anyone who has seen cannavaro. Knows that Martinez is a mould of a world class centre back.
Vvd has been covered all tbis years by fabinho and henderson. Now his true skills are being unravelled.
As a Liverpool fan, I must stay the critique is well deserved. It’s just undeniable that his defending in the last six months has been arrogant. He’s not sprinting back, he’s not organising & he is most definitely is not improving. I have stopped counting the times where he doesn’t even bother to win the ball. It all started with the CL final. It’s very easy pointing with the finger at Trent but the way VVD contested the duel vs Valverde was an absolute disgrace.
