You know the pass is gonna be an assist when Luke Shaw does the little jump
He does that to adjust his timing and gain some sort of momentum for weighted passes. Its more of his instincts though. Other players may do that too. Gonna be a club Legend.
Was the music necessary?
Helps him reduce his speed and get a better contact on the ball
LMAO, he ainโt the only player to that lads!
A great and wonderful player for Man Utd…my first 11 Man Utd player ever
One of the most underrated players!
He does it to scope (look for a target).
Thatโs just catching the footsteps to make the cross.
He does that to help him calculate and anticipate the next 3 steps that allow him to cross/pass correctly and that sometimes is really helpful when you want to pass with the right amount of force. In the end it is a safer base for him to work on.
It's to help him time his run better and cross at the right time. The little hop allows him to change is stride pattern and cross the ball with his left foot. I bet Dalot does something similar when he crosses on the run like this.
I legit thought I was the only one ever to notice this
I noticed this too๐๐๐ฝ
I think it's just how he feels comfortable setting his feet before the pass. If you jump you can control exactly where you plant your feet so you can strike the ball from the angle you want
How is it possible to take such video?
As a defender of you see Shaw jump you might as well start walking back to ur starting position cuz the balls about to end up in the back of the net
Hes not built like a football player
Frogshaw.
He could have achieved a lot more but that injury somehow limited his potential ๐ค๐ค๐คhe was a wonderkid
If any player i would have name on tshirt back. It will be his. His comeback is nothing but phenomal
2 things. Helps him get into the perfect stride/position for a good cross and then also it can throwoff the opposing players judgement on when the cross is coming in.
Everyone knows that lol.
I thought I was the only to notice he does this every time he crosses guess I was wrong ๐
its a pump fake
its the classic "sorting his feet out". needs to swap stride sometimes to walk onto it on his left
That jump step he makes also has to do with the fact that his run sometimes won't get him in the perfect position step wise for a good pass.
In order not to lose time on a dribble he basically keeps the same step whilst retaining pace which in turn allows him to change his step to a first touch with the left foot instead of his right.
If not hate we all know shaw is naturally gifted, talented and skillful
The pie muncher glide,
It helps to adjust his timing…akin to taking another shorter or longer step.
the best "you all were wrong about me" success story
I'm not a homosapien but it's actually pretty cute
It's his Nen contract condition
crazy player man, so technically gifted
I think he does that to adjust the paces. If he just changes the paces without doing that, it might be too much for his legs to handle in the beginning of his return. And now it just becomes his habit.
Dam*, his trick copy to my brain…now i jump also before passing…
Jumping increases the horse power required for a good pass
Perhaps he jumps/ hops to ensure that he is going to hit it with his left foot without losing momentum/ slowing down too much?
He's steadying himself.
I don't know why but when Shaw is on the ball he is so satisfying to watch. He is one of the best controllers of the ball in the league.
Heโs just skipping as heโs happy ๐
Nah its just he measure before 3 walks travel rule

Watch this VDO too๐
Setting his footsteps right place to kick the ball … It's normal if you regular player…
Itโs literally how he sets his feet for a pass
Shaw is jumping ๐คซ
