Sometimes your predictions are right, and sometimes they are wrong. But I have a feeling of DOOM creeping over me vicariously for the Jets–you know, like the feeling of doom that you get just before a major heart attack? IF Rodgers plays for the Jets, something horrendously bad will happen, like a week one season-ending injury or some other calamity. Because of the way this trade-thing is unfolding, it has DOOM written all over it.

The Packers absolutely do have some leverage – they have the cap space to eat Rodgers' contract this season. Meanwhile, the Jets would be stuck with Zach Wilson if they can't make the trade.

The Jets need to be patient. Wait out the Packers. The only power the Packers have over the Jets is what they GRANT them. I woudl Grant them nothing. Let the Pack pay Rogers to sit the bench.
There were about 5 available QBs better than Zach a month ago and 4 teams are drafting new ones. Aaron and Lamar aren't the only options and they both have serious $$$ and other issues.
Give the Pack a 4th rounder as a "gift".

The hold-up is the Jets owner who said he would bet the farm for excellent qb play; only to not offer close for a year removed 2 time consecutive mvp, 2 out of the 3 past years. Sounds like a guy super worried trying to convince himself everything is ok. Been saying the Jets have the pressure since day 1 of this trade story. Packers have already shifted gears, they’ve accepted the next few seasons as rebuilding, they’ve let almost every free agent walk, only keeping the young and less expensive players. The jets are all in for Rodgers now, or Wilson. Makes me smile watching Rich cope
