In this video, Daiwa Alphas AIR TW + Roro X Spool (BFS Trout Fishing), Hobie-Wan Kenobi compares the Roro X AX24 spool to the stock spool in the Daiwa Alphas AIR TW. Although the stock spool casts very well, the Roro X spool is a noticeable upgrade for BFS stream fishing.
I was impressed with the Alphas AIR TW’s ability to pitch light lures when fishing with the stock spool. The Roro X spool makes pitching and short casting even easier. The low, flat trajectory makes casting more accurate and also decreases the chance of line getting caught in brush.
In my opinion, I believe the combination of the Alphas AIR TW and the Roro X spool is the most capable BFS reel to date. The effortless casting and great control this setup offers I have not felt with any other BFS reel I have tried.
The Alphas AIR TW is a great all around BFS reel. I would rival it with the Shimano Aldebaran BFS with Avail 16ALD15 spool. The Alphas AIR TW has become my favorite BFS reel. The Roro X spool has made the Alphas AIR TW even better!!!!

ALPHAS is finally reborn with the TWS system. Equipped with a small-diameter φ28mm G1 duralumin AIR spool to achieve a new level of finesse performance. Not only the bass, but also the trout in the mountain stream, as well as the salt compatible specification that enables the bait finesse game in the salt. The body was constructed with a full aluminum housing and was developed for various light game fishing.
The Daiwa Alphas AIR TW was released in May 2020.

Easiest place to get an Alphas AIR TW is from Japan Tackle. Jun (the owner) is a great guy to work with and will go above and beyond to satisfy customers. Also has prices in USD.
I hope this video helps you out. Comment below for any questions. I will help you out.

Can you compare with calcutta conquest bfs please ?

Gotta keep practicing my casts for sure! Most of my casts are from a moving kayak so its not that bad. But fishing on foot allows you to get the opportunity to practice those nice casts
cool vid, it will be interesting to see how the other aftermarket spool goes!
Looks nice, I still haven't used my alphas air tw that much yet.
Why did you choose this spool over the standard spool. Tried casting 1g with my Steez Air with 0.06 braid but the lure fell when the brake rotor withdrew.
Nice video. Do you have the aliexpress link for the spool? I remember seeing it on there last month, but can't seem to find one now. I have the roro web page, but remember seeing it cheaper on Aliexpress. Thanks
Thanks !
Could you go over some BFS lures both soft and hard baits and your thoughts on where and when and how to use them best?
Digging this
Have you weighted these spools? Do you know what's weight of Roro and standard spool?
Enjoy the vids and reviews. If you had to pick one, do you prefer the Alphas Air vs the Steez CT SV? Seems the differences are minor except the Steez is salt water capable? Thanks!
What the rod use ?
Typed in roro spool for daiwa alphas air tw in the Ali express search bar. Not sure which spool is the right one. Please help. Thanks.
Do you think you can install the gears from Steez CT in the Alphas Air TW? I want the click-drag in the Alphas TW just for fun 🙂
What brake setting were you using?
nice video dude. I wish I could get some help from you to cast trout magnet 1/64 oz on my BFS setup. Shimano 16 Aldebaran. I can cast 1/16 oz lures just fine, but I believe I will have trouble if I try 1/64 trout magnet. I believe 0.8 grams the set hook and lure. Anyways, do you have any experience you would share?
Is there a link where such a spool can be purchased ?
Is recommended if you can put a link where exactly did you purchase the item. So people can reach out with more confident on same purchase
I will be casting mainly 3-5g minnow lures in streams/rivers with my alpha air TW. Would I benefit from the Roro spool or stick to stock?
Would you say this setup can proficiently cast down to .8 gram weights?
Nice video! What is the difference between the stock spool, the roro spool, and the chameleon spool?
What does bfs mean?Great video!
Hi Hobie great vid and nice setup .Very expensive too one would think.
