Just how real is the hype surrounding Yunus Musah? | Pro Soccer Talk | NBC Sports

  1. Stop hyping young players. I know “hype” is when a young lad is in really good form. Stop thinking about the future think about what’s he’s going to do.. NOW.

  2. Yes, he did choose USA over really big countries that are capable of winning major trophies, competitive games, and much much more. He is a midfielder (attacking), right? Andy, why are you talking about defence? Isn’t he supposed to be a attacking kinda person?

  3. His defensive stats are bumped and his offensive stats are knocked down due to the fact that Valencia suck this year and the whole squad does a lot of defending with fewer chances to put together competent attacking spells of possession.

  4. I think currently Musah is first man off the bench in the midfield right now as either the 8 behind McKennie or the 10 behind Gio. I'd replace Musah with Weah in Joe's lineup, I don't think Gio is a RW.

  5. The argument that he's not behind Messi and Ronaldo in talent is invalid, Musah is a talent and anyone his age would be lucky to be getting his minutes. La Liga is not a farmers league and Valencia played in the Champions League last year, what we should be holding out for is a transfer like Ferran Torres', Alba's, Villa's, etc.

  6. He's supposed to be a midfielder. Valencia is incompetent so they randomly stick him on the wing. Stop comparing him to wingers because he's not a forward.

  7. These guys obviously don't watch football at all. If you just watch him play for Valencia, he stands out. And the only reason he isn't playing more at the moment is due to his lack of experience (news flash: hes 18 years old). Also, hes playing out of position because of how quick and dynamic he is as a player. Don't let these clowns fool you with their talk of numbers and percentiles when the kid is playing out of position almost every game.
