Clearly ESPN is backing keeping GGG and USMNT stumbling into the next world cup. This guy is America's answer to Raymond Domenech coaching France in 2010. They might as well do away with ALL usmnt reporting, ESPN only allow one narrative.

This fiasco between the Reynas and the Berhalters is like watching Better Call Saul with Claudio and Danielle respectively playing the role of Slipping Jimmy and Kim, and 3G is Howard Hamlin. It may be too early to tell, but much like that show, it seems Claudio and Danielle's actions basically spelled the demise of 3G in US soccer as we know it.
I still respect Claudio and thank him for all what he has done for US soccer. Berhalter betrayed the team by using social media during a World Cup, 3rd place in qualifying etc. Bye bye Berhalter.

reyna's mother is the definition of a karen who knows no bounds to egotistical perceptions of authority. hearing that text she sent about berhalter made me want to push her off a cliff. women like this only care about family and no one else.
US Soccer is a laughingstock. Not serious about winning and definitely not capable of beating the best. In South America we would not be still talking about this, Berhalter would be a bad, distant memory.
Regardless of the Reyna situation, Berhalter has not been good enough as coach to deserve another contract with the national team. Especially not for a World Cup cycle. Need to bring in a marquee coach for this.

Berhalter didn't truthfully portray his wife-beating. He said that he kicked her in the shin. Turns out he threw her to the ground and started kicking her body while down. Real classy move. Not to mention he's a shitty coach and shouldn't be anywhere near the team based on his "merits."

I really enjoy watching ESPN FC great variety in the main cast. I’ve never left comments on this show, but watching/listening Ale speak yesterday and from my POV seemingly trying to get the viewer to understand where the Reynas are coming from…….

Steve was the only person who accurately captured what type of ppl the Reynas are and what they tried to do.
Destroy another persons career with malicious allegations from 30 years ago, acknowledging that they knew what they were doing, and doing it at a time when the coach was coming up to a review of his position.
All because their adult son wasn’t playing enough and their kid didn’t have a 5 start hotel.
For the record, Gio is a fantastic player, but the US hanging their future on a player that is injured all the time…..same thing happened with Puli.
3 years to the next World Cup. Hopefully the US can find/develop a goalscorer and CB by then. I genuinely hope the US wins.

It would be a huge mistake to bring back Berhalter as the manager. The USMNT deserves a better manager and owner for the next World Cup. They need to leave all the BS behind and start anew by picking a manager they can trust. Berhalter clearly betrayed the players by his actions against Gio and the media.
