Feyenoord goalkeeper saves certain goal with a genius piece of sh*thousery, the attacker was fuming

Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow used the kind of tactic that Eddie Guerrero would have used if he were a footballer, to stop a certain goal.

On the weekend when Logan Paul pulled out one of the all time great Royal Rumble spots, Guerrero would have been proud of the lie, cheat and steal attitude of Bijlow.

Arne Slot’s team have taken advantage of the devastation at Ajax that has been left behind by the departure of Erik ten Hag last summer.

The former manager took Lisandro Martinez and Antony with him to Manchester United, and it’s really had an impact at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
With the Amsterdam based side down in fourth, Feyenoord have been able to take advantage, leading the title race from AZ Alkmaar and PSV.

All four sides remain within touching distance, with FC Twente still in the race too and would have been looking for a huge win at home to the league leaders on Sunday.

Santiago Gimenez gave the visitors the lead in the 30th minute but the hosts must have thought they would level things up just eight minutes later.

Virgil Misidjan ran down the wing and Bijlow came racing out of his goal and knocked the ball for a throw in, however, Misidjan was set to take a quick throw in, with the keeper throwing the ball on the pitch to stop the game, to stop what would have been an open goal, peak sh*thousery.

It was the reverse of Dean Saunders’ famous goal for Sheffield United, against Port Vale, in the old First Division back in the 1997/98 season.

Vale keeper Paul Musselwhite did similar to Biljow in running out of his goal to get to the ball before the striker, and knock it out for a throw in.

However, on that occasion, it was the Welshman who reacted first, taking a quick throw in off Musselwhite’s back, as he attempted to run back to goal, and then slotting into the pretty much open goal.

Sunday’s attempts at brilliant gamesmanship earned the 25-year-old keeper a yellow card for his troubles, although a mightily, and rightly, p*ssed off Misidjan didn’t get booked for throwing the ball.

It didn’t save Feyenoord from dropping points however, with right back Joshua Brenet equalising for the hosts in the 68th minute.

Not that it took away from one of our favourite moments of the season.
Feyenoord goalkeeper, Justin Bijlow, shown yellow card for ingenious bit of sh**housery

Feyenoord goalkeeper, Justin Bijlow, is going viral for an incredible piece of s**thousery during his side’s match against Twente.

Feyenoord draw the match 1-1 to remain top of Eredivisie.

The away side took the lead after 30 minutes when Santiago Gimenez headed home from Sebastian Szymanski’s cross.

However, Twente, who are currently fourth in the table equalised with a little more than 20 minutes remaining through Joshua Brenet.

Brenet’s header beat Bijlow to send the home supporters inside the De Grolsch Veste Stadium into celebration.

They may well have enjoyed seeing Bijlow pick the ball out of his own net.

That’s because the Feyenoord goalkeeper angered everyone associated with Twente with a very cheeky moment during the first half.

With Feyenoord leading 1-0 in the 38th minute, Bijlow acted as sweeper-keeper to come out and tackle Virgil Misidjan. However, he was unable to clear the ball into the stands and could only slide-tackle the ball out of touch.
The ball bounced off the advertising board and straight to Misidjan, who saw the opportunity to take advantage and take a quick throw-in.

Bijlow was way out of his goal and Twente had a fantastic chance to take full advantage.

And Bijlow knew it.

The goalkeeper saw the danger and chased after an alternative ball that was placed on the side of the pitch. He ran towards it and threw it onto the pitch in an attempt to prevent Misidjan’s quick throw.

It worked a treat – much to Misidjan’s anger who threw the ball he had in his hands at Bijlow.

Bijlow was booked for his unsporting behaviour but his think-thinking and sh**housery may well have saved his side a goal.
The draw leaves Feyenoord top of the table after 19 matches. They’re currently two points clear of AZ Alkmaar having lost just once in the league this season.

Twente, meanwhile, are fourth. They remain six points adrift of Feyenoord and four behind Alkmaar. They’re also just two points off PSV, who occupy third.

The top of the Dutch table is actually incredibly tight with Ajax in fifth and Sparta Rotterdam in sixth.

There is just nine points separating Feyenoord in first and Sparta Rotterdam.
