Totally agree with him about stopping the clock. First time I've heard a footballer say this, but I've thought it for years. Rugby Union seem to have a lot of things sorted out such as this. Don't need a fourth official for added on time either. And also the miked up ref and video assistants. Can hear every word and understand the decisions. Bloody stuck in the Dark Ages football officials who want everything in their control, rather than what is best for the game. Thank you Trent for bringing this up.

Last question: Trent is 1000% correct. The game would be sooooo much better if they stopped the clock. It’d make it impossible for teams to just waste time and it’d force them to actually play the game. People don’t realise how much it’d change the quality of matches.
