  1. Have think ahead? Have to think of the future? Lol not after a 13-3 season ya don’t move up for a QB, common sense says ya go all in for a SB, not future moves

  2. Comparing the russ trade to Rodger's makes no sense… russ at the time of the trade was 33 and publicly saying he was wanting to play 7 to 10 more years rodgers on the other hand publicly said he was 90% leaning towards retiring this off-season granted the russ trade ended up being terrible but you can't give that much draft capital for someone who could retire after 1 yr

  3. If the Packers don't want Rodgers then let him move on you don't get to say we don't want you and then try to get a bunch of picks or players for him.

  4. To answer your question: because the Jets are trying to lowball and get a HOF qb for next to nothing like they did with Favre. We aren’t having that sht. You want those Super Bowl chances then divvy up that 13th pick there, bud. THAT is what is holding it uo

  5. If you’re another team (i.e. San Fran or someone like that) do you get to a point where you go “packers just want a first rounder? Fck it, we’ll give you a first rounder for him”

  6. Nothing is funnier than jets people who think the Packers having Rodgers is some kinda of actual negative that's leverage for them.

  7. If GB gm gets stuck with 58m and NO picks, it will set team back 6 years and he should be fired . Get rid of 58m and get some picks. ! Build team around J Love .

  8. Rogers should just say screw it might as well stay in greenbay and smack them for 56 mill and be even more vocal lets see what happens then

  9. I really don't think the Jets FO are in the dark, by now if they want to hang to their 13th pick they would've offer more picks to GB, my guess is that they know GB is holding up to June 2nd and the compensation is going to be less

  10. Pat said "Gute and the Packers put themselves in this situation." Well, lets be honest. Aaron helped. He held out and demanded $50 Million a year and got a 3 year contract… but in the process, scared off his #1 WR (and incidentally, had a big down year). Then, with 2 years remaining on his contract, he once again, left the Packers and fans in limbo about playing and honoring the remainder of his contract. And right before his darkness retreat, he said he was 90 % sure he was retiring. So what are the Packers supposed to think? How long do they wait for a definitive answer? Love Aaron for all he did on the field, but dont love his waffling off the field. He seems oblivious to how that affects everyone but himself. Guess being worth 200 Million $ will do that.

  11. It is natural to compare players' careers, trade deals, etc… Rodgers and Brady are statistical outliers as legends at Qb of their respective teams. So, it is understandable that fans want their team to receive some level of equitable compensation for "their" player. It certainly has been the way of the business that is football.
Looking at the 1 yr sample of the Wilson trade from last yr suggests that in no way should NYJ give up more than a 2nd rnd pick equivalence in compensation. "But for a legend?!", is what the masses will balk at such an idea. Permit me to state the case and an "as equitable an option" as can be readily found for this paradox.
There are at minimum two aspects that demand reduced compensation for Rodgers' services. 1st, in a near perfect parallel to the present conundrum GB traded Favre to NYJ for what amounted to a 3rd rounder to begin the what was then the "uncertain" Rodgers era. Several trades in recent yrs make such a trade less than palatable for fans of the team and most owners, today. Pulling the trigger on the recent bloated trade compensation (Wilson, Watson, and in theory Stafford/Goff swap), shows the inflated value system that is the "player at the helm" of the offense. 2nd, each of these over-the-top trades expect the Qb to be quality starters for 5+yrs hopefully more. So unless Rodgers has the TB12 method or it's equivalence working for the NYJ, the trade expectations are not the same, therfore the renumeration should reflect that fact.
The best argument GB's front office can make is that they are left holding a cap number after the trade gets finalized. This is certainly the case. This is why I'd suggest a 2nd rnd pick with subsequent achievement incentives that spread into future drafts should Rodgers play at a given level for more than this season. Rodgers may well have retired this yr or next. Compensation should reflect that and have compensatory triggers that benefit both teams. Butts in the seats for at least a yr in NY, team rebuilding capital for GB so long as Rodgers is on the roster and hitting preset milestones. Either side becoming entrenched is just being obstinate.
Common ground can be found, without taking the position of demanding the most for the "me and mine" mentality that grips the hearts of the masses.

  12. How are people comparing a Rodgers trade to the Russel Wilson trade? Rodgers was 90% retired a couple of weeks ago. Wilson is 6 years younger and looked great before last season. In hindsight he was bad last year, but who's to say the same won't happen to Rodgers this year? The guy is 40. Could be one and done. Pack thinking a 1st rounder coming their way for him, isn't reasonable.

  13. I get that he won 2 Mvps in 3 years, but are we really going to pretend like Rogers wasn't the 25th Qb in the NFL last year. He definitely played like hot garbage.

  14. Its going to happen, I realize shows have to discuss trending topics, but sure bringing alot of drama to a complex negotiation. This gets done prior to the draft.

  15. How can you compare the Wilson deal to Rodgers? Wilson was 33 with no intentions on retiring. Rodgers is 39 and was 90 percent retired last week. Packers fans need a reality check if they think they are getting 13 or both 2s.

  16. Packers have no leverage at all. If I was Jets GM I would wait till September when they would be forced to keep Rodgers as a back up or release him.
