In Sunday’s FA cup quarter final clash between Man United and Fulham, Mitrovic was shown a straight red card for a push on the referee. However, Bruno Fernandes escaped punishment for a similar incident in the game against Liverpool. Did Mitrovic deserve a red card?

I disagree with Marvin's definition of consistency and for the lack of demarcation for severity within the confines of any given act. It would be consistent to state that unsolicited or violent contact on game officials will result in a straight red but the length of ban should be discussed further depending on up to which level of severity the incident reached. Sure, Bruno could have been given a red with a standard 3 match ban but if Marvin thinks that stopping refs from getting beaten up on a Sunday league match will be fixed like this, I think he needs to get to know the type of people that think violence is ok in the first place. Mitrovic has anger issues, he needs help to tone that stuff down and 3 games will not stop him from aggressing a referee again or being a bad example to grass roots players.
On another note, Bruno's nudge on the linesman will not influence kids and young players to rough up match officials, the disrespect of officials has been going on for decades. I am 44 years old and I have played semi professional football in different countries, the terrible treatment of officials is not confined to the UK and it is much worse almost everywhere else.
Intimidation factor is also in play, if Bruno gets pushy you have a fair chance to defend yourself but when mitrovic pushes you around you know that he's capable to take your head off haha, therefore you feel more "attacked". A red card in this context is a measure of self defense
ABU (Anyone But United) FC
A “little push in his back” 😂😂😂
Can we all just agree any player other than a captain that goes to address a ref should be carded. That fixes so much more .
No when you start to get into what's in the players head…. WTF are you talking about mate, that's in so many bleeding rules the INTENT means everything when it comes to these kinds of decisions. The difference for you is it's a United Player and you are too childish to acknowledge it isn't close to being the same thing.
Marvs opinion changes based on who the topic is about, if there is a United Player involved it's ALWAYS against him ALWAYS. This show has fallen off massively because they are supposed to be taken seriously but can't accept the reasoning given to why Bruno wasn't given it, but because it's not what they think it's all wrong suddenly.
What was the 4th official doing when Bruno pushed linesman. Obviously not his job
As a former referee, they are both the same in my eyes, both should be a three match ban and things at grassroots levels need changing but there is so much wrong with the laws atm so it’s gonna be a while until we see change
Jesus please get that Irish fella off, his voice goes right through my head, do YouTubers make an effort to find the most annoying people possible
If you have to distinguish between the amount of aggression that was used in touching the referee, you've already lost the argument as to whether one is a red and one isn't. The degree of suspension is a different issue.
Arsenal fan ignoring the fact referee grabbed Bruno first lol
Don’t really follow the kick off much but you can just tell that boy with the green hat is bitter about SAF ruining his childhood days
Irish Guy, NICE!
Bruno was pushed by the linesman first you dick.
These situations are so different. The only thing that's the same is they touched the ref. The past weekend, JWP jokingly pulled the refs arm forward when he was placing the ball for a free kick. Should he have been sent off too?
Bruno’s was a light brush on the linesman’s back. Mitrovic was hard shoulder and verbally abusing the ref completely different scenarios
Mad to even compare the 2 situations 😂😂😂 if written down you couldn't tell the difference? The guy is mental
Anyone who thinks the punishments for these two incidents should be the same needs to stop watching football. Bruno should've got a yellow, but at the same time the linesman pushed him around first. The officials aren't allowed to touch players any more than the players can touch them. Mitrovic genuinely just pushed and was aggressive to the referee.
And the favouritism argument doesn't count when the favouritism came 1p years ago. United have had some shocking decisions against them this year and recent years. Not having the favouritism argument.
Went there case for united. There are moaning and crying everywhere. It normal for united fans because we are the biggest club in England. 🤡🤡😏👍
Mitrovic pushed a ref bruno got grabbed by the linesman and it was a self defence
"Bruno slightly nudges the linesman" "referee manhandled bruno" 🤣Bruno also kicked at trent as he was trying to retrieve the ball, he's lucky trent didn't go down to bruno's rat behavior and fall down.
both should be a red!! no one should put hands on officials
2 wrongs don’t make a right.
Mitro deserves a lengthy ban but Bruno also deserves a ban albeit not as long.
I don’t think anyone can disagree with that but it’s YouTube so let’s see
Marv has been unbearable since Arsenal are top of the league.. What an idiot
Collina and sky both said the refs didnt add enough time for the 7-0. Should have been another few minutes where utd were down to 10, its only fair.
PEN-A-TEE
Pardew attack on linesman 1 of the worst i has se, and he gote whas it 1 or 3 game ban, run straight a him push so he rule around, but agin manager can do that ther want, whit no punishment.
United paid the ref! Always get the decisions! Paid for Bruno to stay on but they cleaaarly forgot to pay the ref for Casemiro but yes they pay the refs! The refs are obviously Uniteds 12th man!
Which stream is this from? It’s not on twitch
The guy in white is a buffoon
Look at the Bitterness. I love it. GGMU
Every time I click on a video from this channel, I know I'm going to watch a bunch of fucking idiots with no ball knowledge talk about football but it always makes me laugh so I have to click😂😂😭.
(The Irish guy is not an idiot)
I hate the point about writing rules down making it black and white. That's the problem with the rules nowadays, they are too black and white. The reality is referees are there to make subjective decisions. That is their job.
Also the linesman in the Bruno incident touched Bruno first. That to me breaks all rules about separation between refs and players.
Quite disappointed you haven’t brought up the fact the linesman touched Bruno first, the ONLY reason that Bruno didn’t get a red was because the linesman instigated touch first
Mitch is bringing up Howard Webb and Fergie. Yes we got calls then but not now, nah it's popular to not give United decisions. Aguero did more to a female linesman a few years ago and no one said a word. It's because it not Man Utd!!
Just saw this on my recommended. This channel truly is in the pits.
Tell that shoe seller to stick with selling shoes.
The difference is that Bruno is not a threat to anyone because he’s weak and mitrovic is clearly more threatening but he’s smart enough not to do anything too crazy. This is so extreme either way. 10 games is dumb. Bruno had intent and immediate regret but not getting anything is dumb.
this show has plummeted so far man shits sad, except for the irish fella he’s class
Should just do what rugby does. You don’t question a referee, if you do you’re gone.
Make up your mind, handball can't just be black and white, dissent can't just be black and white, we'll end up with minor dissent having players sent off these are human beings who get frustrated by refs because refs also make bad decisions you can't expect the ref to be perfect and you can't expect players to be perfect, you can't give Bruno a red for being petulant. And talking about making a decision based on viewership what utter kak please move one
Geordie needs to get rid off everyone except Irish guy 😂literally haven’t a clue
so context only matters if it supports your argument?
Show has really gone down the drain with these brain damaged cast
Man U done ruined everyone’s childhood love it😭
