Nottingham Forest #nffc have made their 30th signing in the last 8 months in the form of fre agent Andre Ayew but with all the chaos that has happened with Lewis O’Brien’s move to Blackburn Rovers #brfc who has ended up in the 25 man squad?

  1. I felt we needed to sign TWO strikers this transfer window – especially given Awoniyi's injury. Our squad was very short on strikers.
With Awoniyi's ongoing injury, I'd agree with retaining Surridge in the 25-man squad.

  2. Shame about O'Brien.. Something must have kicked off big time. Ayew … Has a great relationship with SC so got a feeling he will do well under SC at Forest.

  3. The new 25-man squad has been published…
It's confirmed that LEWIS O'BRIEN is out of the squad. The other two are OMAR RICHARDS and STEVE COOK.

Following the additional signing of Ayew, Cooper needed to remove three outfielders in order to accommodate all of the new signings.

The omission of RICHARDS suggests to me that he was nowhere near being fit – despite the recent update Cooper gave us. Maybe the same still applies to Niakhate too?!

Cooper should've told COOK to take a loan move on deadline day, following the signing of Felipe. Reportedly, Cook said he wanted to stay at Forest to fight to keep his place, correct?. How daft is that?! Loan Cook out to Anderlecht! LOL

Continuing to be out of the squad since September are: Lyle Taylor, Cafu, and Harry Arter. They still don't have outgoing deals. Grrr.
At least Mbe Soh got a loan deal out this transfer window – he needed it.

My current understanding is that we can still loan out players despite the end of the transfer window, but only to overseas clubs.

  4. Ayew shake it all about.
Mad whatever has happened with LOB, definitely looked a useful Prem option. Surely can't just be a football decision to consider him leaving?

  5. Re: O'BRIEN.
I had no time for Kayoute, Colback or Yates starting ahead of O'Brien.
Once Cooper decided to let O'Brien go, following the signing of a second CM in the window (Shelvey), it's so daft that the O'Brien's loan deal out wasn't finalised in time properly before the deadline! grrr!
I hope Blackburn's appeal to the EFL is successful. I don't like O'Brien going whilst Colback stays in the squad ahead of him, but in the circumstances, for O'Brien's sake, he deserves a loan move until summer.

  6. RE: AYEW. He's NOT really a striker/CF is he? I've seen him described as a winger. He's primarily a left winger it seems, true? Age 33. 5ft 9".
I'm not fussed about this Ayew signing.
We have DENNIS and he doesn't play enough. Ayew therefore seems superfluous. Cooper really doesn't like Dennis; he even picked Lingard over Dennis this week when we were 3-0 down – that said it all to me!
Imo we needed to sign two proper strikers this window. Our squad was very short on CFs. We only got one in: Wood. And Awoniyi is injured.
Given these circumstances I'm very glad Surridge wasn't loaned out or sold this window.

  7. I'm a forest fan first and if Cooper hasn't put LOB in the 25 man squad then it is what it is. Out of the 29 players we've signed they all won't work out so it was bound to happen

  8. Something big has gone on with LOB. I don't think anyone should be over worried though. Earning life changing wages for next few months and then getting another nice move in the summer isn't so bad. Cook situation is where a lot of our recent 30+ age signings could well be next January. Cook brought into to do a specific job for us at a specific time which he did and we're all grateful. Same with these new signings. Brutal world of football but they aren't naive to that and they get paid insane money.

  9. I like the Cooper-backed signing of Ayew very much indeed. Check out his first interview. He’s a Cooper believer through and through. It’s going to work for us, I am sure. Feeling good about all the signings in fact. COYRs.

  10. Can't believe Dennis made the squad, I think the problem is that he already played for Watford when we signed him so he can't play for another team in Europe this season, limiting our options to the likes of the MSL or the Saudi League

  11. Another striker was a must. Disappointed we didn't get Angelo Gabriel. What happened there? I thought he was having a medical in Brasil? I like O'Brien, he's a good player, and he can still play if Yates has a heart condition (Is this rumour true? If so, why is he in the 25-man squad?). There is just no room for O'Brien in that midfield now. He's good but he hasn't been consistent enough for me.
