Cracker of an opening round, in fact pretty good first 5 rounds, with most final aspirants playing at least 3 others in those rounds (Geelong and Carlton only play 2 each and seem to have an easier start). In any case, those 5 rounds should give a good feel for where the 8 is going as a result.
