One particular incident saw Vinicius Jr produce a fine piece of skill and movement to leave Alexander-Arnold in his wake along the touchline.
The pair tussled for the ball on the flank after the Los Blancos star had tried to move past Alexander Arnold with a stepover.
He then slowed down to allow his opponent to lunge in for a tackle.
