Gareth was one of those players with an okay national team and and an absolutely amazing club team, and was still one of the best at both stages. Even though we didn’t make it through the group stages he made the country proud with the first goal of 2022, and getting wales to the Semifinals of Euro 2016, Ein Tad Gareth.
I'm in my 50s and for much of my life I never thought I'd see Wales qualify for a major tournament, now I've seen it three times! Huge thanks to Gareth and the boys for your passion and for inspiring a nation.
From the consolation against Slovakia late in Toshack's worst result in charge, to that goal in Qatar. There've been some great players for Wales, but none have had the journey Bale has taken us on. Diolch o'r galon mawr, Gaz.
