Things turned nasty at the end of the PSV Eindhoven vs Sevilla Europa League clash as a fan tried to attack the visiting goalkeeper.
The fan’s efforts were foiled and he was pinned to the ground by keeper Marko Dmitrovic until police arrived to take him away.
The scenes marred the end of a fantastic round of 32 clash between the two teams.
The Spanish side took a 3-0 lead going into the game and looked all set to be heading to the next stage of the competition.
They were still sitting pretty with 13 minutes to go, before Luuk de Jong scored in the 77th minute.
Things then got interesting when Fabio Silva pulled another one back for the Dutch side deep into added time, needing one more to take things to extra-time.
PSV did not have enough time to that all important third goal, with Sevilla booking their place in the last-16.
PSV Fan Tries To Attack Sevilla Goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic But Gets Pinned Down
A PSV Eindhoven fan ran onto the pitch and attempted to attack Sevilla goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic.
The incident occurred at the end of Thursday’s Europa League game at the Philips Stadion.
PSV had won the game 2-0 but Sevilla progressed 3-2 on aggregate to the round of 16.
Dmitrovic pulled off three saves in the second leg and was shown a late yellow card for time-wasting.
But he wasted no time in disarming his attacker, before pinning him to the ground.
Stadium security staff then arrived on the scene to take the violent pitch invader away.

Serbian goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic was punched in the face in a shocking fan attack during Sevilla’s Europa League defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
Dmitrovic was only introduced to the Sevilla line-up at the last minute after regular No. 1 Yassine Bounou was unwell prior to the match.
But the Serbian gloveman not only conceded two goals, but was the victim of a horrific attack from a pitch invader, who rushed the keeper and punched him in the face.
Dmitrovic quickly subdued his assailant before security staff marched the fan from the ground to loud jeers from the crowd. The goalkeeper was apparently uninjured and played the remainder of the match.

A Europa League match between PSV and Sevilla ended Thursday with a fan of the Dutch side running onto the field and attacking Sevilla goalkeeper Marko Dmitrović. It did not end well for him.
The skirmish came with Sevilla minutes away from eliminating PSV, who won the game 2-0 but lost 3-2 on aggregate after falling behind 3-0 on the previous leg. The fan approached Dmitrović and punched him in the face once, at which point the Serbian quickly took him down.
The fan continued to put up a fight as Dmitrović pinned him to the ground, but was fully subdued and quickly taken off the pitch.

Sevilla have progressed to the last 16 of the Europa League after a 3-2 aggregate victory over PSV Eindhoven on Thursday.
Los Nervionenses swept aside their Dutch opponents last week, which meant that their 2-0 defeat in the second leg was futile. As such, they will be in the draw for the last 16, which takes place on Friday.
It wasn’t an easy match for Sevilla, and outside factors didn’t help. Footage has emerged of a PSV supporter that tried to attack Sevilla’s stand-in goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic. However, it backfired for the fan, who has seen being suppressed by the Serbian stopper.
Dmitrovic was pictured holding down the fan, before being pulled away by a combination of PSV players and Sevilla teammates. The fan was eventually escorted off the pitch.
Dmitrovic had the last laugh as he helped his side to progress, and Sevilla will harbour hopes to securing a seventh Europa League title in their history.
