The group of death for the UEFA Euro contains heavy weights, such as Germany, Portugal, and France, in addition to Hungary. All these teams have submitted their provisional squads already. In this video, we will find out the players that will be playing in the Euro 2020, or Euro 2021, as you prefer it.
Three goalkeepers have been selected by Portugal’s manager, Fernando Santos. The three goalkeepers are Anthony Lopes from Lyon, Rui Patricio from the English side Wolves, and Rui Silva from Granada.
A total of seven defenders have been selected for the squad. The defense of Portugal includes Ruben Dias, who has been in unbelievable form in the Premier League. The defense also includes Dias’s teammate Joao Cancelo from Manchester City. Other defenders are Semedo from Wolves, Jose Fonte from Lille, Pepe from Porto, Nuno Mendes from Sporting CP and Rapahel Guerreiro from Dortmund.
Moving on to the midfielders, a total of eight midfielders have been selected by the manager. One of the most important midfielders for Portugal will of course be Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United, who has been in phenomenal form. Other midfielders include Danilo Pereira from Paris, Palhinha from Sporting CP, Ruben Neves from Wolves, Moutinho from Wolves, Renato Sanches from Lille, Sergio Oliviera from Porto and lastly, William Carvalho from Real Betis.
Finally, let’s move on to the forwards. Of course the team contains one of the biggest names in World Football – Christiano Ronaldo. Alongside him, other forwards selected for the tournament are Pedro Goncalves from Sporting CP, Andre Silva from Frankfurt, Bernardo Silva from Manchester City, Diogo Jota from Liverpool, Goncalo Guedes from Valencia, Joao Felix from Athletico Madrid and Rafa Silva from Benfica.
