Mitoma probably has one of the most unique and strange journeys to becoming a professional footballer that I’ve ever seen. From being recognized at a young age as a skilled prodigy within Japan who dreamed of one day making it to the pros only and eventually being offered a legitimate professional footballing contract – to then turn around and instead pursue a degree in sports science.

But why not accept the contract and start your career right? Well, it’s a lot more complicated than that. Because as crazy as that sounds, it seems like it’s starting to pay off. And now with Mitoma finally starting to make a name for himself in the global and European stage just in the past few months alone – I think it’s time you all heard his story.

  1. Mitoma has been on fire lately 🤯 That goal against Liverpool is easily one of the best goals I’ve ever seen. He’s a joy to watch 🔥

  2. Please don't mention the clown Neymar in this. Mitoma is 1000 times more respectable and fair play, phenomenal player!!! 頑張って下さい!

  3. I put on closed captions on his latest Jpaneese interview, while he is very humble and nice he also seems very confident in his abilities, like he knows he is one of the best right now.

  5. Besides his excellent dribble, he is very humble, and calm. For example, the last game against Liverpool, the defender intentionally hit his face right inside box. He didn’t fall down or get upset. Just used his hand to massage his cheek. He eventually scored the winning goal. He is a role model for young kids.

  6. So that's why his movements were so subtle, to the point of nearly not entertaining, and yet his opponents still miscalculated his movements, making his dribble that efficient.

I like the way where he looks like he intend to shoot hard with his right foot only to change direction with a subtle switch, and followed by unexpected shoot with his right foot. I mean, in that position, most player will shot with his left, lefty or not.

  7. He can be better if he can go to a bigger club. I think he could be an asisn super star in the next generation better than son

  8. Bro , this guy did exactly what my father done in past , with the difference that he had better luck and better decisions , bcs my father was studying the players of Liverpool back in 70s and 80s but he didn't wanted to grind slowly , he was waiting for big team to ask him straight away (and remember back then the scouting and also the way of families were thinking too were way too different) so yeah

  9. Honestly he probably didn’t even need to study Sports Science but it’s good that he went to college, and then also become a pro footballer

  10. So he essentially studied how to dribble like Messi. For Messi it was natural, Mitoma on the other hand went to university to learn it lol. That’s awesome

  11. Mitoma, this guy story tells us that you can be successful if you are able to really tomaximize your time..
Setting goals and priorities puts you on speed in life.

  12. U gaslight this guy like we haven't seen ppl going down the exact same path…U forget Ronaldo also studied and did research, many players have.Clueless my friend.
