      Watching the highlights and seeing Utd's backline having no shape or consistency was hugely telling. A decade ago you knew your fullbacks would be in the fullback position throughout the game, but modern management strategies try to make players more flexible in moving into non-standard roles. Shaw at different times was at LW, LB, CB, CM depending on which player he was following – and it requires other players to fill the gaps created 100% of the time or else you end up with Gakpo open through the middle and Nunez and Salah stretching the centrehalves wide, while their midfielders that might cover the gaps are lost covering man 2 man against players waiting to make late runs.

      I know the modern game doesn't like players marking empty space, but if you cannot go 1-to-1 you have to consider a more traditional system in these games and adapt.

      It's only 1 match. Man U are still 3rd in the league, 2 places above Liverpool and 7 points ahead. In a league format it's the overall performance that matters not one result.

      No excuses from Liverpool now, they really should be winning all the competitions they’re in now after that result, otherwise you’d have to look at their season and say they’ve failed. They’ve got the best players and the best manager so there’s really no excuses.

That’s all Jamie Carragher will have to talk about this season while Gary Neville can celebrate Man Utd winning ether another European double or a 2nd European treble & celebrating Man Utd once again knocking Liverpool of their perch again with 68-69 trophies over their 67 trophies & Man Utd once again becoming the most successful club in England again.

      Graeme Souness & Jamie Carragher & Liverpool won’t want to remember the 22/23 season after that.

      Plus if Man Utd win the European treble we will have won 2 European doubles in 07/08 & 16/17 & 2 European trebles 98/99 & 22/23 thats something Liverpool can only dream off. 🤣🤣🤣

      ManU had a kind draw in the cup, they have not shown any identity, man mark one day different the next, the big players can’t be relied on to deliver every game, that why it’s a team game, the team failed , the manager must take some blame as either the players have no respect for his system which says he lost the dressing room or the managers game plan had no adaptation

      United should have bought Kieffer Moore. Before dodgy Bournemouth starting hiding his talent by keeping him on the bench he was second leader in holding the ball up and flick ons in the premier league and not to mention also the most fouled player in sad league

      This whole thing with Man Utd is making me realise how toxic the football community is. Barely a week ago, everyone praises Utd for doing well under ten Haag. Now they get battered by Liverpool, everyone's saying they needed the humbling. I'm so put off by how reactionary you guys seem to be. Maybe take a breather once in a while
