  1. I don’t understand all the hate for Sargent. Pefok is scoring, but he also plays in the Swiss league which is like maybe the 10th best league in Europe. Pepi is barely playing and not scoring or assisting when he does play. Ferreira isn’t really a 9, and hasn’t looked great there for country or for FC Dallas. He’s much better as a 10, but we don’t play a 10. Sargent plays in at least a top 2 league in the world and starts every game. Yes I wish he would score more, but he’s also playing for a team that struggles to score or really even create many opportunities for him too. He would have been perfect to start against Mexico where we would need our 9 to press and play tons of defense on a night where we wouldn’t have as much possession.

  2. Pepi's struggles in the Bundesliga show what a massive gap there is still between scoring in MLS and scoring in a top league. So why are we punishing Sargent but rewarding other guys like Arriola that we know wouldn't be doing in better in a top league?

  3. American strikers never score. Pepi and Sargent don't get the job done. It's typical of American strikers. Fact is if you want to be on the squad score. Don't make excuses. Yep, Pepi probably doesn't deserve to be there either. That's cause every US striker loves to go to the EPL but not score goals.

  4. Sorry but we need to get rid of the coach. I usually one of the people who think Alternating Managers like at Chelsea, or Tot isn't the way to go, but in this case Berhalter is destroying our team. It feels like he manages based on who he likes, not what is best for the USMNT. He reminds me of Frank Lampards first attempt at Chelsea only worse. He can't even beat Canada… at least in between calling players girlfriends to help work out personal relationships, Frank would have beat Canada…

  5. GGG makes excuses that the casual USMNT fans would like to hear. I'll be surprised if he even knows why some of these players doesn't get called up to the national team.

  6. Pepi hasn’t scored since October 8th, Ferreira hasn’t scored since October 31st. Josh scored his brace on January 21st, if it comes to goal contributions for club or country in order to get called up by Gregg, then something doesn’t add up

  7. Can we please get rid of Berhalter already? Let's try to pay a bona-fide coach….no Bruce, you stay seated.

  8. Not including John Brooks but including Aron Long has to be the biggest slap in the face to us who actually were here for the 2014 World Cup. Idgaf if he fucked his wife or kicked his dog. That man has proven he deserves a call up to rep us.

  9. I hate to say it, but I don’t think the USMNT is gonna qualify not because of some of our top players getting injured (McKinnie, Dest, Aaronson, and Pulisic who doesn’t look comfortable now though he can still play), but because of GGG’s poor stewardship and omission of international players who could’ve filled in the gaps (no Brooks, no Sargent, no Scally, no CCV)

GGG brings Arriola, Long, Sands, and Roldan over these guys?? 😞

  10. Switch
    Sargent for Arriola
    Joe Scally for Reggie Cannon
    Đorđe Mihailović for Roldan
    Cameron Carter-Vickers for James Sands
    John Brooks for Aaron Long
    There fixed it

  11. I would take Sargent over any other striker we have right now except pefok. Pefok reminds me of an Edson Buddle who was in form, got taken to the world cup, played some friendlies right before the world cup and was scoring, yet Bob Bradley kept playing Robbie Findley because he wanted to duplicate what Charlie Davies did, yet Robbie Findley wasn't a charlie Davis and Findley was not scoring and struggling bad.

  12. Usa r in deep trouble no mckennie no dest and reyna still getting back to fitness possibly no weah either pulisic in good form but that’s our only hope if he has a hot final window that might get usa over the line but it’s going to be 3 difficult games to get at least 4 points to qualify assuming they get no
    Help from results

  13. Sargent is akin to Joelinton. The quicker he and others quit lying to themselves and saying he’s a 9, the quicker he can become a versatile option in midfield for club and country

  14. Berhalter is an embarrassment to this team. Fk him, and fk his brother that hired him through pure nepotism. GGG is a terrible manager. I'd rather have Bruce Arena back at this point.

  15. just turned 22 – already has 100+ games in Bundesliga / Premier League — who else has that?? No one. He has to be on WC roster. Those leagues don't keep running him out there b/c he isn't good.

  16. I'm a Norwich fan. Sargent is not just lacking goals. The quality is just not there in his all round play. He does work hard but as Norwich have found you need quality as well. I think Sargent will be ok in the championship where Norwich will no doubt be next season.

  17. The problem in the States is few people are actually talking about what matters… Sargent lacks touch when he gets the ball and unfortunately he lacks quality when it comes to finishing in front of goal far too frequently. Technically he’s just not good enough to ascend to a higher level of skill because he doesn’t have the crucial first touch a striker needs to position the ball correctly to maximize scoring potential. Bremen was smart to unload him.
