  1. Wing chun ( as most of traditional martial arts) are useful BUT you’ll need to learn different styles and martial arts to be able to defend yourself. If you’re strong and fight a guy with no experience , most likely you’ll be ok but if the opponent has experience ( let’s say a mma or MuayThai practitioner) you’ll be in deep trouble

  2. I’m realizing I been doing wing chun all my life with my big sister she always try to hit me and I don’t hit girls so I just be redirecting her punches and throwing her off balance and tripping her and blocking her punches 😂😂😂

  3. I can’t believe this video 4 minutes into it and there’s no real breaking WIND in it. Real fighting just you talking. From a Cook Islander who’s not watching your YouTube videos

  4. Getting sick and tired of people saying just because someone does wing chun they don't know how to fight. Sport fighting is usually designed for people who are going to have a mutual exchange of the same sort of skills with rules. I've never done wing chun but it's NOT shit it genuinely can work very damn well I've seen my friend drop a motherfucker in like a second IF that but I was like 17 so I didn't really know how he did it

  5. Hmm, the nature of the question is flawed. Would you rather have no understanding in defending yourself again a person who losses it, or have an understanding of Wing Chun and some training in it. I think that question answers itself. Now regarding the comments: the pissing contest of what system is better against a guy who losses it, that's not what is being asked. But of course many simply cant help themselves but chime in with their expertise and background and how well their style would go. The truth is many who train in various other systems, have never faught a seriously trained Wing Chun opponent. I know many of the newer, younger guys I train with I'd be willing to do a round with but most of the long term, hard core dudes I train with… No F### way I'd want to even attempt to throw a punch at. I'd get my arse handed to me, once I finally woke up from the serious beating I'd be given. It's not just about the style, it's about who is doing it and their motivation in not only their training, but also the motivation to win at all costs if it does go down. Back 30-35 years ago when my Brother trained there used to be organised beat downs between schools at the Melbourne Town Hall. These often ended ended in blood baths and a hell of a lot of sore heads and brokem hands and loosened teeth.. There was no gloves and from memory no rules. It was great to watch and I'd laugh all night because it wasnt me getting into the ring for no prize money, only momentory glory.

  6. I’ve studied kung fu and Tai chi and a taste of wing chin. A taste was all I needed, but, I am 70 years old. Am I to old to study Wing Chun? How am I sure I am getting a qualified Sifu? Your video was excellent, and informative. Any information you could supply would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and concern.

    With Respect,

    Timothy M. O’Toole

  7. Wing Chung mix jujitsu, Thai boxing like krav maga military fighting. Incorporate other systems so your able to defend yourself in street fighting

  8. Very practical, those who would say it isn’t hasn’t practiced the practical side of it. Any art that was meant for one’s survival is a true art form and one that eventually will have no art form which would be art.

  9. Wing chun has a soul called CHI SAO. It’s a two handed ambidextrous striking art that uses centerline theory, economy of motion. The spine is the target in all the striking. We destroy the balance, we upset the line, we take over your position, and we hit. Control and using energy against itself are primarily used. Take a long distance first. I have 3 doors for you to come into my house. SOP FACING and ANGLES.

  10. So if you train in wing chun taking out the soft tissue strikes it could be used in MMA. Being more of a offensive style you would also have to adapt some attacking techniques to defeat your opponent. Wing Chun should definitely be taught to all females. It’s a shame but, realistically, we all know there are predators out there willing to take advantage of anyone smaller and weaker. Indigenous populations should definitely be teaching their women and children this technique.

  11. Why don't you do anything but bring Martial Arts back to street fighting??? Martial arts is a spiritual discipline that teaches how to live. It's not the solution to having a street fight, or killing someone on the street and hurting ourselves.
Martial Arts is SELF-STUDY, not a crappy scuffle, you Americans screw everything up. Turning everything into vulgar violence. HOW afraid you are.

  12. look I love Wing Chun, its beautiful but the propaganda for it in this video is complete BS, weve had COUNTLESS high level Wing Chun people come into our MMA school to "test" themselves and they ALWAYS come out humbled and aggravated. Il never put hate on any martial art because most all have a lot to teach. But this Video is bs. You can have all the martial art "theory" you want the effectiveness comes down to the facts, and the facts are in a fight where your opponent knows ANY amount of street fighting, boxing or MMA , youre gonna get your bell rung and dropped on your head if youre relying on Wing Chun to protect you

  13. In high level sanda it resembles Muay thai. In your local kung fu gym it looks like what you see on Friday night kung fu theater. News flash: the "autumn horse kicking to high heaven with crouching monkey whirlwind power strike" doesn't work in real life.

  14. It was developed by poor people that were defending themselves against criminals, bandits with weapons … So yes it was designed to hurt others quickly and ruthlessly…

  15. Problem is….not a single one of the big city Wing Chung hipsters will ever make it to get a benefit out of this sport for their self defense.
You must be an aggressive type, and learn this Wing Chung stuff really really hard to get a profit out of this martial art. Otherwise any strong and fearless fighter or bully will crush you with a single blow

  16. …. 8:00 that's a false argument, there are moves in many martial arts that aren't allowed in UFC fights. A person can use wing chun in those fights, in fact I see a lot of the wing chun principles used in those fights all the time. We do a ton of sparring without gouging out eyes or injuring someone's throat… ufc is like sparring but hard enough to knock someone out…. just use those moves of wing chun

we got no ground game though.

  17. I see a lot of “wing chun” on YouTube. They leave out A LOT. I keep saying to myself, “that’s not the way I was taught.” Or, “well if he just used this then he would know how to counter that….”
It’s interesting that a lot of Sifu’s that make vids don’t include some of these things.

  18. 90% bullshito. 😆 🤣 😂 I will say that at the proper time in the fight it has it's value. But for the majority of the fight you're getting your ass beat. 😆 bullshito

  19. Wing chun fighters are know as 3 second fighters for a reason they demobilize their opponents effectively. Granted a trained professional might find an opening you would have to find that opening on a sifu in milliseconds after advancing them otherwise be prepared.
