It’s a subdued team of the week episode as the English Premier League, the Championship & the Scottish League cancel games but Giovanni Reyna, Weston McKennie & Jesus Ferreira all make the team with solid goal contributions. Who else makes the USMNT Team of the Week?

  1. This coming week, with the Champions League/Europa matches, should be an interesting week for picking the next Team of the Week (for example, Juventus v Benfica: will John Brooks get to play vs Weston McKennie?).

(There are no Americans involved, but the Bayern Munich v Barcelona match tomorrow should be a really good one to watch.)

  2. People keep saying Pepis assist wasn’t anything but he pressed and one the ball and then instantly started the counter I get that the other player did a lil run but that goal was mostly pepi

  3. And critics accuse Pete of being anti MLS smh. He’s not he fair and mls people can’t accept that the mls is at a lower level.

  4. I REALLY like that you DON'T SUGAR coat your ASSESSMENT of the Players for the USMNT and assessing the players TECHNICAL BALL SKILLS.

Thank you for Keeping it REAL!

If we the USA really want 2 Develop BETTER Soccer players, we have 2 (NOT SUGAR COAT)!

Thank you for Keeping it REAL!

  6. a fun video u could do is why u think guys like giedon zezlam and others where so good at a young age and then fell off i mean at 18 he was playing all be it very little but it was still with arsenal first team

  7. So I have a fascinating story. I don’t watch MLS, so I had never heard of Roman Celentano (on a soccer level) but I wanted to look him up because he was a young USA keeper. Turns out, we’re from the same hometown, went to the same high school, and we’re even in the same graduating class. It was only after that when I remembered us having class together freshman year (I forgot his last name but you don’t forget being in a class with someone named Roman), so thank you Pete for helping me learn something about someone from high school even when I totally wasn’t expecting to do so right now.

  8. Huge FCD fan here: while Ferriera has not capitalized on his chances with the USMNT (and even u-23 team as well), finishing is NOT an issue with Dallas. Jesus has been clinical this year, even outperforming xG significantly 18 goals vs. 11 xG. He leads MLS in non penalty goals and FCD dont even create too many chances. I know he needs to do the same for the USMNT, but saying he struggles with finishing is wrong.

  9. I love this series. Very informative. One tip: Show each player's club team as you profile them. Otherwise we have to recognize their uniform to know where they're playing.

  10. Roman celentano is really strong. I live in Indiana and saw him play a lot for iu last season. He carried them every game and I just knew he would be at this level a year ago
