The 2018 World Cup is finally edging closer with 32 nations taking part. Some experienced countries including Brazil, Germany and Argentina hoping to win another World Cup trophy others taking part for the very first time. As we get ever closer we anticipate which players will be on the plane to Russia, and which stars will be missing out. In Saudi Arabia our differences are:
Your second and third goalkeepers, Al Qarni and Waleed Abdullah, I picked instead Khalid Sharahili (starter in the first eight qualifiers) and Al Muaiouf (starter in the last two qualifiers).
You only have seven defenders and I picked an eighth, Al Nakhli (starter in the first five qualifiers).
And I haven’t picked Al Ruwaili for midfield, picking Shaya Sharahili instead (starter in the first qualifier). And then your extra midfielder is Salem Al Dawsari, because you only had 7 defenders instead of 8.
These were Bert Van Marwijk’s choices though, so maybe now Juan Antonio Pizzi will have different ideas.
