George Elek and Ali Maxwell from NTT20 Pod give their thoughts on Harry Souttar’s move from Stoke City to Leicester City – discussing what Souttar is like at his best, his potential impact for Leicester City and concerns around his level of performance post-ACL injury.
Souttar has been a favourite of Not The Top 20 Podcast for a while. From loans at Ross County and Fleetwood, to performing for Stoke, he has worked very hard to reach the Premier League and, all being well, he will be a Premier League centre-back for years to come. He starred for The Socceroos, Australia, in the Qatar World Cup.

Feels like this deal might be Leicester trying to stick a (massive) plaster over their set piece defending. It's been their most obvious weakness under Rodgers in the last two seasons and if Souttar stops them haemorrhaging goals from corners that's probably enough to justify his signing. Anything else he contributes on top of that is a bonus.
Since coming back from injury he has been playing out of position in order to accommodate Jagielka. The defensive record being poor was mostly down to Fox and Jagielka getting done for pace and Wilmot also being played out of position. Wouldn’t put any of that down to Souttar coming back. If they play him in the centre of a back 3, or the right sided CB in a 2 and he’ll thrive. Also superb in both boxes, stick a corner on his head and he’ll score a bunch.
Stoke have had bad injuries and are poor form and souttar was played out of position in a team of players forever changing .the team apart from the last 2 games were on the backfoot and lacking confidence most games .souttar will be a good signing
Hope he smashes it with the Foxes
he was good at the world cup, but stood out when he played for the olyroos at the olympics especially against argentina.
I think he will be a solid signing. BR will get the best out of him. faes will cover any lack of speed he has. I think its a right fit
i'm sure he'll end up injured within a month like all our players seem to under rodgers.
Steve Walsh the second
15 million for Leicester of Souttar age, will be a bargain.
From what I saw, Amartey did not have a good WC with Ghana.
I'm sure his house has very high ceilings too!
