    It’s our second episode of USMNT team of the week & there’s plenty of deserving candidates. Yunus Musah put in a masterclass performance for Valencia with 2 assists, Gabriel Slonina with a lock-down performance for the Chicago Fire and Sargent with double-digit goal contributions. But who else made our team of the week?

      Musah’s first assist (the second Valencia goal) was an assist that the great midfields of all time produce, not that he is there yet, but it was a great sign that he is developing one of the skills we all seemed to think he was lacking.

      In the past couple of windows, he would somehow contain a pass despite being pressured from two or three defenders, turn towards goal, and dribble 30 yards but then not have the pass to create a chance. His second assist was that but then the key pass that creates the goal-scoring opportunity.

      With all our other goalkeeper issues, maybe we should just use Slonina at Qatar. I get it, he is young and inexperienced, and we could get sketchy play from him. We could also get sketchy play if we use Mat Turner, because he is not playing at Arsenal. We could also get sketchy play from Zack Steffen, because he has been sketchy, and because he has been injured. So if we are going to get the possibility of sketchy play no matter which GK we call up, If we use the young guy that appears to be the future of the team, we can at least consider the sketchy play a learning experience. I would rather invest in the future of the team than just get sketchy play from older, more experienced goalkeepers due to being rusty from the lack of minutes going into November.

      On the bench. Dejuan Jones. Playing some fantastic ball at left back and then came in at right back and put in a lights out performance against NYCFC.

      This guy HAS to be friends with Sargent. HAS to be. I will NEVER understand his infatuation for such an unimpressive player. The numbers don't lie, and his are BAD. Somebody tried to say Sargent was close to being the best player in the Championship??? W T F ????????? YOU'RE HIGH. This DOOF has proven exactly NOTHING other than he's NOT GOOD. Goals for USMNT since 2018…. five. I was amazed he had that many. Goals for a very BAD Werder Bremen team… 13 in 72 appearances. Norwich… a little better…. 7 goals in 34 matches. I guarantee his rate will drop off. His numbers are completely underwhelming and he's a forward/winger. Would someone really take this guy over Tim Weah with Weah's intelligence and speed??? I sure hope not, because that would be monumentally stupid. JOSH SARGENT ISN'T GOOD. FACE IT. This season…. September 6th by the way… is not enough to make an argument for him. I WOULD NOT be picking this kid for WC 2022. He has NEVER scored a WC qualification goal.

      This kid should not go to Chelsea. British teams rarely have a plan to develop young American talent because there is no incentive to. He should go to Germany

      We are almost to September call-ups. There are only two games left for any of the players to try to impress. It seems highly unlikely that Pepi or anyone it was on the fringes can accomplish anything in that amount of time.
