Shaun McEntee began his over-100-mile run to Anfield on Wednesday (September 16) and is due to arrive at the home of Liverpool FC on Sunday (September 20).
Shaun is taking on the run in memory of Aaron Mills, who died from Meningitis B in January at the age of 18.
Aaron was a lifelong football fan who supported both the Harriers and Liverpool, a passion he shared with his father, Anthony.
As Shaun continues to run from Kidderminster to Liverpool, he has been buoyed by messages of support from Match of the Day presenter and former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy, and former Liverpool and England striker Michael Owen.
Before getting his run underway, Shaun also received messages of support from Liverpool and England icon John Barnes, and former Liverpool star and Kidderminster Harriers boss Yan Molby.
“I just want to wish you all the very best of luck with your run from Aggborough Stadium to Anfield,” Michael Owen said.
“It’s an awful long way; it’s a mammoth challenge in memory of Aaron, whilst raising awareness for Meningitis. You’ll never walk alone mate.”
Danny Murphy added: “I want to wish you all the luck in the world this week for the amazing challenge you are taking on in memory of Aaron, who I know was a big Liverpool fan.
“I’m sure you will get through it because your motivation is so big, so I’ll be thinking about you, and I hope you make loads of money for an amazing cause.
“I know Aaron will be looking down and keeping an eye on you. You’ll never walk alone.”
During his run, Shaun has passed key locations from Aaron’s life, and on his first day of running on Wednesday, he passed the teenager’s former school, King Charles I, where he was cheered on by staff and students.
Shaun’s mammoth challenge is also in aid of Meningitis Now, and to date he has raised over £4,300.
