      I think some people expected too much of Gakpo at first due to the hype he was generating. He had just joined a team that was starting a rotten run of form, and he has had to adapt to a different system. I was a little sceptical at why Klopp was seeing him as our next Firmino at first, but the Everton game showed me that he can play the 9 and with a bit more time he can become an integral part of the team. What some people forget is that Gakpo's assist tally tends to be better than his goal tally while Nunez is normally a full on goal scorer. I understand that people expect the goals to mainly come from strikers, but Klopp's system is different. Look at Firmino for a good example of this.

      Klopp's system tends to be about the wingers getting most of the goals while the number 9 does the link up. That's why Nunez is playing left wing, and he's also there due to his lightning pace. Gakpo is in the 9 because his close ball control and touch is better than Nunez's, and his passing is generally more consistent. Gakpo is basically becoming our next Firmino but with extra pace.

      Few days or weeks ago alot of Liverpool fans said signing Gakpo was a mistake,saying he was one of the worst Liverpool January signings but now he is very important for the team. I stood with Gakpo even when he was playing awfully [especially vs Brighton]. I saw this coming. I knew all the fans calling him a flop will change their mind. Like with Nunez, he was called a flop but he is now very vital to our attack

      Klopp's got Gakpo playing false 9 because he's good at linking play, but I'd want to see him closer to goal too hit some shots we've seen how good a finisher he is.

      Just you wait to when he is ready and has had a full season under his belt and joint by the return of Diaz and Darwin with a season under his belt also..
      Liverpool just needs to get pass this bad spell/season .. If Liverpool somehow make it into the champions league this season
      And fix that ageing midfield with proper money/ investments on a couple midfielders starting with Bellingham, and possibly another accomplished central defender.. I think LFC will be a force to be reckoned with next season..

      Who was saying that gakpo is slow ?. The boy has pass and power mixed with drive and aggression..
      Just give the boy time to settle into the team when there not struggling..
      After his goal.. you can see what type of player he will be.. what is scary for opponents is, he will only get better

      It hasn't shown yet but once Nunez and Gakpo start finding the net they will be dangerous, once confidence and goals become part of their game they will light up the Premier League. 4-4-2 would work

      Anyone who saw clips of him at PSV knows he has quality, ffs he hasn't emptied his suitcase yet!!
