Located upstairs at BOMO House, the hub is the brainchild of James Gordon, a businessman who also runs Harry’s Sports Bar and Bar Coast nearby.

Students can register for free annual access, giving them entry to study areas, games like pool and darts, social zones and quiet corners.
James said: “Every year thousands of students arrive in Bournemouth, and for many of them it’s their first time living away from home.
“I want the Student Hub to be somewhere they know they can come to, whether that’s to study, meet people, play a game of pool, or just have a cup of coffee.
“Students are a massive part of Bournemouth and we should be doing more to welcome them and look after them while they’re here.”

The venue will also offer free tea and coffee, along with events and activities aimed at connecting students to the wider Bournemouth community.
James added: “It’s not all about nightlife.
“Students need somewhere during the day as well.
“Somewhere they feel comfortable, somewhere affordable, and importantly, somewhere they feel safe.”
Students can sign up for their free annual pass at thestudenthub.uk or via QR codes distributed during the launch, with students being welcomed as the academic year begins.
