The white Ford Transit tipper was taken by Dorset Council Waste Enforcement officers on August 31 on Gravel Hill in Poole.
It is believed to be connected to illegal waste dumping and other environmental crimes in the Dorset area.
A spokesperson for Dorset Council Waste Services said: “This vehicle is subject to a live investigation and is suspected to have been involved in fly tipping and other environmental crimes within Dorset.
“It has now been seized pending that investigation by Dorset Police on behalf of Enforcement Officers of the Dorset Council Environmental Enforcement Team.
“It was seized under Sections 33/34/34B of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (breach of duty of care & Illegal depositing of waste).”
The van remains under investigation and is being held as part of ongoing inquiries.
Anyone wishing to claim the vehicle must do so by September 21, 2026 and must provide proof of identity, address, vehicle registration and valid business insurance.
If the vehicle remains unclaimed after this date, or if a claim is made but not verified, the council has the authority to dispose of it immediately.
